He's meant to be an Indian (asian, not native American), but no one thinks he looks like one, not even me. But, he's also supposed to be a very sturdy looking Indian, all hardcore and such.

Any thoughts, criticisms or comments would be greatly appreciated.

A red cross?
As in it's not working or those people who go around feeding starving children?

Works now:D
I can see what you mean by him not looking Indian. You should try to look at some reference photos of indians, and figure out what of their facial traits are different from ours.
Otherwise you could help to set the mood of him by giving him some indian looking clothing and objects (turban, rings, tattoos whatever...) like nemo from lxg. again search on the internet for some reference.
hope it helps.

You're spending way too many lines trying to get an object down. It looks like he's shaking. Try to stick to using only one or two lines to draw, say, the outer edge of his bicep, instead of going back over and over the same line until it looks right.
Build confidence in your lines, and your beginning sketches will be much more solid, adding much to the piece as it progresses.
Good luck!

You might consider drawing in the big important shapes first and really getting your structure down, for a head on view like this a vertical line dropped straight down the middle should pass between the pectoral muscles and between the legs, I think that in this case that centerline might end up inside his right leg.
