OK so I have been annoyed by the cables on my 21UX for some time, because a: they are not quite long enough (computer at one side of desk, monitor at the other on an arm with a large range of motion) and b: the cable tree kind of annoys me, I would almost like it better if the cables all came from the monitor separate, I could bunch them that way, and as a group also the cables don't fit into the cable management tracks on the arm that would help hide the cords.

Does anyone have any recommendations for fixing this? The main thing that is too short is the DVI-I cable, but it seems Wacom cheeped out a bit by only having a single link cable instead of a dual (dual link can support twice the resolution and longer lengths) I had gotten an adapter so I can add another dvi cable as an extension, but I got 'dead pixels' on the display and other noise, so there is signal drop off. Has anyone opened the display up and looked at the cable harness inside? If it were standard connectors I would be in business, but I doubt it.

Sorry for the long post, just really don't know what to do, I could move my computer, but it is a monster, and with summer almost here, I want it as far away from my feet as possible, cause it produces heat, I could move the monitor, but it is in the most ergonomic position as possible for me.

sorry to hear that, but i wont ever open my cintiq, i treat her like a girl, i bet will be easier for you to open your pc, and mabe add long cables to get closer to the cintiq than backwards, besides which its more expensive your pc or cintiq, in my case its the cintiq, so they might be better options to get inside cables for the pc to make them longer.

Actually my PC is worth about the same, and true, a cable is the no-risk option, how fun would it be too see what is going on onside of your Cintiq? What had spurred the idea though is that the older 17" Cintiq had cable trees that you could buy and install yourself, just wondering if anyone knows of one for the 21UX, or has experience with using an expensive dvi extender cable before I go out and drop $50 or more on one only to find out I lose signal quality.
