has anyone here read the da vinci code?
if not, i highly recomend it. (from what i've read so far anyway, i haven't finished reading it)

my question:
has anyone noticed the hidden codes and symbols on the dust jacket?
i was reading the synopsis on the inside part of the dust jacket and happened to notice that in the word "buisness"
the " i " is bold. and then i noticed that the second " s " in "symbologist" was bold also. so i went through and wrote down all the bold letters, and they actually said something: istherenohelpforthewidowsson (insert appropriate spaces youself)

now to my question: on the back cover, very faint are some longitude and latitude cordinates.
i cant find a website that lets me put in the string of numbers the way that it is on the book. only part of them.
i come up with Xinjiang china. but i know that this is a general location, and not what im looking for. its close but no cigar.
has anyone else noticed this? and if so, please help me figure out this location. its killing me to not know.
maybe someone knows of a website that lets you put in an exact location by longititude and latitude and not just a general one. that would help.

thanks guys
p.s.
the longititude and latitude #'s
37* 57' 6.5" N
77* 8' 44" W

pibb991,
how much did you read? if you are refering to the end, then i cant defend the book because i haven't finished it yet, so it could very well have a gay ass lamo hollywood ending. but if your making your comment based on the first 50 pages or so i can understand your comment. it's not until the middle that this book really gets interesting, when your learning about all the secret hidden codes and symbols in Da Vinci's paintings and stuff. that shits real. did you not find that interesting? once i started getting into that stuff, i couldn't put it down.

now, they are making a movie off of this book, and i will agree with you that they are going to make a terrible movie. i think they should wait for about 10 years before they try it.

uh...im rambling. what the fuck was i talking about?....

yeah, i read the entire book. the ending is pretty lame but what i cant stand is how theyre in these impossible situations but then they remember a key piece of information at the perfect time or some event happens where theres no way they'll get out of it but they always do. i didnt feel any conflict..

I read that The Da Vinci Code had something to do with Gnosticism but by reading the blurb on the back it didn't seem to have anything to do with it...at least at a surface level...I was just curious about that theme within the book and how it used it...

revealing my sources...I read that the Da Vinci Code was about Gnosticism in Time magazine...where it also mentioned The Matrix as a film with Gnostic themes...although personally I think The Matrix is more like Star Wars, taking inspiration from a bunch of spiritual/ religious ideas and combining them...

I'm reading "A Short History of Nearly Everything", by Bill Bryson. It was sold out in all the nearby bookstores, so I had to get it on Amazon. Imagine that, a science philosophy book sold out? I'm only on page 17 so far, and it's really good. I'm sure the Bible-pushers hate it, because the first chapter talks about the Big Bang theory, evolution, etc. I feel an argument coming on...:D
