We have a game project we have rescently begun with a working title Edge of Valour.
The game will be set in a 3D environment with a 3rd person view of your player. You will play on a team with friends/online against another team to complete certain tasks.
We are going to be using a new, state of the art rendering engine called AmpII (http://www.4drulers.com/amp.html)... for those familiar with gaming engines, this boasts similar features to the new DoomIII engine. I helped develop an FPS with 4DRulers (http://www.4drulers.com) for Activision using this engine, so I am able to help out people getting used it.
What we are aiming to do is create a good quality, fun demo of this game and submit it to a few game publishers hopefully getting a small deal to continue development. If not, a functioning game using high-end 3D features will be a great resume addition.
For the art/media side of things we are needing a texture artist and/or a concept artist. I realise detailed drawings take a lot of time and since this is a non-paying project, any contribution would be appreciated.
Examples of what we'd need are character design and texture art - patterns, symbols and engravings that will visually enhance the look of the 3D environment.
There is also all the 2D art, like HUD displays for in game, and the menu art.
There's a draft http://starwars.web.easynet.be/dungeonrumble/files/documents/draft3.doc (design document here) that goes over our intentions for this project in much more detail than this post. :)
We have a forum at http://starwars.web.easynet.be/dungeonrumble/forum/default.asp so please drop by if you're interested in helping out.
And here are some screen shots of what has been developed so far. The engine boasts real-time lighting so things like the cages that u see swing and shadows move correctly with it... lights can swing from ceiling 'lights' and create moody effects of shadows swaying with it. There's some great possibilities with this project.
