Um, yes you can. If you don't like anime then just say so instead of telling these lies. There are many styles in anime.
Anywasy sorry but I don't really color but what I think of this is that it is cliche sort of pic. It wouldn't hurt if wizard did do a little anatomy studies and then come back to this. The wings also need more work. Feathers could be more messy and maybe not have that look.

He has a point.
Babee_fre5h:
Don't start out aiming for one particular style, or you'll get trapped in it and nobody'll hire you (unless it's a very unique and interesting style). Right now, anime style is all the rage, but too often people leap into it thinking they'll be able to become a master of the style as well without the proper building blocks. This style is inredibly varied to the Japanese, and it's just a natural derivation from how they learn how to draw. To circumvent all the hard work they do into coming to this style is doing their artwork a disservice.
But anyway, I digress. It's a very basic piece. The face is nicely structured, but the wings could use some work. They don't really flow with what little of the rest of the piece we can see, almost as though you used them to get out of drawing the body.
Like gasmask was getting towards, try doing the piece as realistically as possible to gain your basic knowledge before you push your anime style. It'll help you tremendously in the long run.
Edit: Storyline, you live in Germantown? That's awesome, I used to live in Cordova some 9 years back.

I agree.. And i love manga so i'm not dissing it Storyline. :)
It's just that you need a good base before you go into a particular style like anime. Draw from life and study anatomy and let go of anime. :)
It's just the best way to get good. =^-^=

I'm just saying that a studio would except it. But only if it's not something like this. A more unique style is what they want. :)
Lavhoes that cool. So you got tire of Memphis or something? I plan on leaving to go to Minneapolis next year for their college. Can't wait to get out of here.
