All of the work on my website was done with a Graphire 4x3.
In 2009, I've been using the Graphire that's one-up larger, which I got from the trash can at my ex-workplace. It had screwed up wiring, so I just re-connected wires and used hot glue to hold. Voila! Free Graphire.

Intuos 4 Large on my desk. Intuos 3 A5 sitting boxed up behind me gathering dust atm (Haven't decided it's fate). Old Graphire A6 got taken into work and sits on my desk there.....
I use 2 x 22" widescreen LCD monitors

I've got a graphire I got about two years ago. I'd be lying if I said I liked it at all. It's a worthless piece of shit. srsly
I'm looking to invest in an Intuos4.

I'm currently using the 6x4 intuos 3, and a 15 in. monitor, because I got them for free. If I upgrade anything it'll be the monitor first, (or dual screen) because PS starts feeling a bit cramped if ref photos are up there at the same time. Tablet wise...the small size works with my available desk space, and I'm used to carrying around and using small sketchbooks anyway.

I use a 9x12" intuos 3, with a 24inch lcd... works like a charm, and I have no trouble at all with it being a different size ratio.

intuos 4 XL, 15 inch laptop monitor >.> Sometimes I'll take the family comps monitor and work off of that in dual monitor fashion. I'm planning on building my self a new workstation with a dual monitor setup once win 7 comes out, till then this setup works fine. (large tablets and small screens is a very good setup strangely enough.)

Intuos 3 A4 (12x9) with a 24" monitor (and a 19" secondary monitor). I also have a small Intuos 3 A6 that I use with my 17" laptop but I can't vote twice!

Intuos4 Large (with 22" WS LCD), and have an Intuos3 6 X 8 for when I get sick or need to sketch on my laptop (15" WS LCD) somewhere else than at home... like at the coffee shop.

Not wacom tablet here... I'm a mac fan and I have a Modbook, which is basically an Apple MacBook that's been converted into a mac tablet (http://www.axiotron.com/) for artists or those who need a slate-style tablet in the field.

It's excellent, the best investments I ever made. I;ve tried different tablet sizes with my 30'' but found out of all of them the large or 9*12 is the ideal size.
What 30 incher do you have?

Just to clarify - not portable in meaning it's not easy to transport?

I accidentally voted for intuos3 12x9... blah...
what I am using is:
at work: intuos3 a5 wide (what is just 11x6'') with two 21'' lcds on 2560x1024 res together
at home: intuos3 a5 wide special edition with 15'' macbook pro and a 19'' lcd
both setup is just fine for me, but sometimes would be cool to work on a cintiq... :)

It seems more and more people are seeling their Cintiqs. So what is it that didn't fulfill your needs? Although I have read from numerous sources that if anyone's buying a Cintiq in first place, one should make it a 21ux, because the sweet features don't really translate to the smaller one. Would you agree? Or maybe you're just too accustomed to a good ol' regular one, like the majority of us :)
Excuse my curiosity, I've just been drooling over the Cintiqs for some time, so I'm always doing research for said long-term goal ^^

I admit it, it also includes a suppressed hate against overprized brand name commerce. I simply think Wacom sells their name first of all.
The Cintiq was imo extremely overpriced for what it offers. I was kinda annoyed by its inaccuracy and jitter towards the edges. The screen has a few color issues.
Somehow, painting on the Cintiq is more inaccurate than using my bigger no name tablet. But I guess that is mostly due to the size. I always experience that working on a small tablet is harder. Lines get wonky etc.
I have a 4:3 main screen so I had some difficulties switching from on-screen painting to normal tablet mode while maintaining correct mapping. I constantly had to reset the settings and it was really getting on my nerves in the end (but that's only indirectly linked to my criticism).
Anyway, mostly it's because I don't want to understand that Wacom sells their stuff so expensively while other tablets work equally fine. :P
I do agree that the bigger Cintiq would probably work better but again, I'd rather buy a tablet PC (for cheaper money!) with nice portability and full PC functionality(which I am actually planning to do soon).
Now Wacom's coming out with their new Intuos 4, woohoo - I am unimpressed.
No-name tablets FTW!

Thanks for your answer, it was much enlightening :D
Hopefully they'll update this model and make it finally worth the crazy money! I'm not gonna afford this any time soon anyway, so here's hoping. I've never tried a non-Wacom tablet myself, only had my Intuos3 for the past years.
I'm also glad to hear that a serious artist as yourself uses his money wisely and knows what works. I know quite a few amateur artists myself (mostly on dA) who own a Cintiq (even a large one) and frankly...well, let's just say they should start with cheaper art gadgets. Or just a pen and paper :P

I have a Wacom Bamboo on a 20" widescreen LCD. For what I have done so far I realy like the Bamboo. Also it only cost me $100.00. And I like to have it in my hand as I drawand not on the desk. It seems more natural to me.

Currently using a wacom graphire 3 wide medium. I can't even remember how long it's been since i invested in it, and to think that it's one of the older and cheaper models I've been really surprised by the quality of it.
The nib on the pen is almost non existing now, and i consider just buying a new tablet since this one is so old that i don't wanna invest any more money into it.
I have a tight budget and i'm gonna travel a lot in the nearby future so i might consider investing in a wacom 4 small, so it'll be easy to carry.
But right now the only thing I'm sure about is that i don't need one bigger than a5 since that would annoy the hell out of me.

My primary tablet I use is my Intuos3 12x9. That baby stays at home but I have a Intous2 8x6 that I will travel with. And she looks like it. Poor thing is so scuffed up. I really need to see if I can replace the plastic cover on it as it has some areas that are very abrasive and it probably doesn't do wonders on the pen nibs.

I am working on the Cintiq 12WX and I LOVE IT!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! I've had it for a year and I friggin love this thing. Since 2002 I've used the Graphire 4x6, from Graphire 2 all the way to Graphire 4. It was easy to use, simple and got the job done. But I saved and saved and damn I love my Cintiq. I noticed an immediate change in the quality of my work instantly. My production flow at work also increased tremendously. At my job I had been using the Intuos 3, and when I started using that, I couldn't go back to the Graphire. But then once I got my Cintiq, I couldn't use the Intuos again. I do use it on occasion.
I can understand how people love the 21 more than the 12, but for me I love that I can take my 12wx wherever I want. The 21 is essentially a TV. That thing is friggin big and it's not going anywhere. I work on a 15" laptop, so portability is important to me. If I was working on a desktop all the time, then yes I'd rather have something that would stay with the computer, but I don't. My monitor at work is a 21" so there's an adjustment to sacrificing all that space just so I can work on the Cintiq. But I don't give a flying frak because I'd rather work on the Cintiq.
I do agree about the wobbly edges, that's annoying, but I've learned to live with it. As for the color, heeeeeell no, I love the colors on this thing and I love the results I get with it. My only gripe about it is that my hands sweat easily and can stick to the tablet. So I wear cotton goth gloves that get rid of that. My gloves earn me a lot of well deserved making fun of. "Ooooh look at me, I'm a minion of the night magic tablet artist person and I wear gloves ooooooh."

I got (just before the Intuos 4s came out.. of course!!!) .. an Intuos3 6x11 - the weird widescreen one. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
My monitor is a widescreen 21" Acer - cheap, and (mostly) okay.
I had an Intuos2 6x8 previously; I'm not sure if the tablet was getting old, or what, but it was just.. wonky. Just didn't feel like it was drawing straight anymore. No idea. I definitely like the matched aspect ratio (widescreen tablet / widescreen monitor) - I think it helps. But again.. my other tablet was OLD. Soo, I don't know if the tablet had gotten old on me (finally), or if it wasn't scaling properly, input wise, with the widescreen.

9x12 (I think, it's the A4) Intuos3 Wacom Tablet with a 23" samsung wide screen monitor.
I really love it, my only regret is that I bought it a couple of months before the Intuos4 came out :\.

well, the reason i practically don't use a wacom is because the only tablet i have is a Wacom Colorelli (https://maxict.nl/images/640/868606-9755.jpg)
i've been practicing with it though, and to be honest, drawing with it is possible but far from easy...i mean, the tablet is just big enough to write your autograph with it...
i think drawing with anything bigger than that would be like heaven.
been think about bying a wacom bamboo medium.
but i have no idea if it would matter compared to the one i 'use' now.
any suggestions ?
