two pictures (looking for crits)

Took about 2-3 hrs each, in Opencanvas 1.1

I did these as pictures for my friends fan made cards for a CCG (collectable card game) They might be a tad on the tame side, but I was working with discriptions so...*shrug*

Crits welcomed...

good colors and values in both, the demon samurai is my favorite of the two.

both of them are suffering a little for having empty compositional space. If they're for a card game you likely have dimension requirements so you need to work with perspective and environmental elements more to keep the shapes lively and the drama high.

ah, I see what your saying, but the large empty spaces around the center pic are 100% intentional. I should have mentioned that the boarder of the card is a circle ^_^;; so most if not all of those empty areas will be covered with the card boarder.

EDIT: I'll post some of the finished cards when I get em from my buddy, to give people an idea.

You should stay away from putting your focal point ( The character ) in the middle of the page, it makes for bad composition. Intentional or otherwise. Nice colors but work on the overall composition.
