Hi there guys. Firstly this place is HUGE! I've never been part of a forum with such a large community before. The forum looks really swish too nice one. Well I'm an illustration student studying as part of a new BA illustration course in UWIC Cardiff and I'd thought it to be a bit rude not saying hello first.
My website is www.richielee.wordpress.com and although the work on there isn't amazing, I try my best to try different things all the time. Following a number of visits from guest lecturers in the concept art field and going to visit concept illustrators myself I've decided this is really the kind of field I want to work in in the future.
This summer I aim to build up a good looking portfolio, learn to use a graphics tablet and make the transition from paper to screen.
Thanks for you time if you're reading this. Here's one of my doodles:

I was going to study there, it was my second choice. But I got into my first choice Loughborough instead. Are you starting next september, or are you just finishing your first year around now?
(If you are going there currently, would you by any chance know a 2nd year Graphic Design student called Simone Roberts? Out of curiousity...)

Thanks Farvus, I've been doodling for way too long, time to step my game up and focus my work into something of purpose I think.
Thanks for the very informative advice and useful tips Grief. I will definitely add that to the checklist of things to do.
Hey Kagemusha, Not sure about the set up in Loughborough, I hope you do well! I'm on the verge of finishing my 2nd year. My group is the first ever Cardiff illustration students so things are very exciting as we push the boundaries of the typical impression of 'illustration'. We just launched our first public exhibition this week in fact. I should really mingle with the 2nd year Graphics students a lot more but I cant say I know her bud, sorry.

Oops just noticed that if I was to introduce myself it would have to be in that beginner's thread! Sorry admins delete this thread if you so wish, apologies from a newbie. I'll get into this site and have a read around now.
