View Full Version : Change brush default layer?

Is there any way to change the default layer type a particular brush has?

In particular I'm referring to drawing tools like "Thick and Thin Pencil" which changes a layer to "Gel". I'd much rather have this stay as the "default" layer type.
I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but when you're working away and concentrating it's easy to not notice that a gel layer has been selected and find yourself overcompensating to deal with the overly dark appearance the gel layer creates.
Also, it just becomes tiresome and distracting to always have to remember to change the layer type back to "default".
It would be much easier to change this as a brush variant and save it. But when I try to do that the layer type seems locked.

Does anyone know a way to do this?

[The whole Painter brush system bamboozles me.]
I've been trying to figure out the brush system for the last 12hrs. (79 coffee breaks)
And this is one of my question also.
(Perhaps my mind is locked. Or I'm just dumb. Same diff. :P)

Change the Method of the brush to "Cover" instead of "Build-Up".
