I switched thread thumbnails for my sketchbook a couple of days ago. but all that is shown as a preview in the sketchbook thread now is a beige square. other people seem to be experiencing simular problems. we've tried different formats, other sizes.
I tried re-uploading again today. the problem still persists.
if anyone can fix this, that'd be great ^^!@

I'm experiencing the same problem, man. My original one worked fine and then I decided to change it. Nothing loading now. Naturally, this wasn't a help for you, but figured I'd let others know the same thing's going on with me.
Maybe I'm just an idiot and haven't figured something out.

No, its a problem that they are shoving in the 'not a priority' stack...by 'they' I mean whoever the admin(s) are that fix this sort of thing...its in a different thread in support. And it just had to happen yesterday...when I wanted to update mine.

What are you talking about? I said I put it as a priority for the back-end programmer to fix because I don't have access.

In there my direct quote regarding the thumbs:
This one I can't say. I think I know which mod they used and have to see what it entailed to see if it's something I need to fix or pass it on to Jason's dev team. I placed it as 1 for fixing because I believe it to be a priority fix.
So please don't say stuff like that unless you can back it up. Jason's team is hard at work upgrading the forums, I stepped in on issues I know and could fix on my end. They didn't shove it as a "not a priority" stack.

Hari Gopinathan, I'm sorry but that is just not correct. The posts you found are from when the forum software was updated in 2007. That was fixed and there have not been any problems with the thumbnails since then.
The current problem is caused by the recent update of the forum software and is being fixed as Arshes Nei has said.

How do you make a thread thumbnail? Mine's beige but I think that's because I am new and am not sure how to do it.

The thumbnail feature is being fixed right now.

well, I'm glad to get an answer and see there's someone looking into it; thanks arshes.
I didn't really get the first issue in the list was this bug. also, the post seems to suggest it's fixed. but anyway, as long as the issue is know and looked into I'm happy ^^

Just jumping onboard that I've got the same issue with my sketchbook for about 2 weeks, more or less. At least it's been that long since I realized there was a problem. I suspect it reduces the amount of people who'd be looking at my sketchbook, since there's nothing up front to show what sort of work it is.

I have the same problem and I'm getting a lot less comments in my SB, meaning a lot less critiques. I think it's best to be patient as I know the mods have a lot to do. The help will be hugely appreciated :)

This issue is known and has been in the process of being fixed for a wile now. Can the MODs give us an update as to when it might be fixed though? PLEEEEASE with sugar on top?

I guys, I'm sorry it's taking so long. This is something that has to be fixed by the programmer. CA has had a lot of specialized modifications added to the vBulletin code, and now that the code's been updated those modifications have to be re-added.
I don't have any update or idea when the programmer is going to be able to get to this, but I thank you all for being patient while this gets worked out.

The problem seems to be getting worse. At the moment, almost the entire Sketches & Rough Work forum is beige squares, including several that previously had working thumbnails that hadn't been changed.

jagmed's link was broken for some reason. it should be this (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=157674)thread.
^^ in the lounge 'stead of here.
don't think the problem's getting worse. just that nobody can upload new images as thread thumbnails, so the effect is getting bigger and bigger.

I meant there are a goodly number of thumbnails that have vanished that were there the day before, in threads where the poster had not changed the image.

if people try to change their image (like i did) it disappears...i don't think they're randomly vaporizing.

I don't mean to sound impatient. Just curious, Jason's post was a couple of days ago, has any headway been made since then? I'm just wondering...

mran, the thumbnail is created from the first image you attach to the first post in your thread. To change it, hit "Edit" on your thread and remove the old image and upload the new one.

Thank you very much, Jason. It seems to be working perfectly now.
