*** UPDATE *** I had a hard time with trying to scan the image into the computer. The scanner doesn't seem capable of picking up the washes of the watercolour.

The skin tones are handled nicely, and the linework and wash go well together.
What's going on with her clothes doesn't make a lot of sense, but I assume it's taken straight from your reference.
I wish the background was handled with more finess. It's a little too obvious that you were afraid of the contour of her face, and her hair looks cut out and clumsy.

Fantastic start. You should finish it!

I hate you lol, I love the way water colors look. However anything I ever do with waterpaints always ends up looking like mud.

FINISH IT!

She's nude but has a cloth wrapped around her. I added the pants because I didn't want to copy the reference 100%.

I was working wet on wet which means the colors had to be separate or they would "bleed" into each other. You are right in that the background lacks finess. As for the hair...I've never been good at hair. Do you have any tips on doing hair?

Wow. Next time I am asking for a car. Ummm...

I wonder if I can get a car. Ha! Buy a car for me. Do it now! :D

For all those who are asking why her clothing looks odd, in the reference I used she's nude with a large piece of silk (?) wrapped around her.

I added the pants because I don't want to copy the reference 100%.

Thanks for all the comments. I was taken back because this meant to be a sketch for the DSG.

No intention in being rude, but why is this post 5 stars? I thought the best of the best recieved that ranking?

Once again, no insult meant by this, it is a nice piece and I can't wait to see it finished.

The star system is based on other viewer's opinions. If you opinion is you think it sucks, vote accordingly but don't be like"no insult mean't but, this work is poop why is it 5 starz?:crosseyed "

Oh ok. HEY, I didn't call it poop!!

Seriously though, it is a good piece, I just see a lot of 5 star posts from the mods and everything and was curious how they were assigned.

I did like the piece, however, and commend you on a job well done. Watercolor is indeed a tough media to handle and you did a good job with it, I too want to see it finished.

Pencil for the sketch and then watercolour for the colour.

I use the "wet on wet" technique and a personal process I developed for working with watercolour.

Lovely work and the use or acrylics (water colours what ever ) is great and I love the facial expression of the girl also the colours are very cool too but they kinder look too heavy I personally like the one with less colours better, but don’t get me wrong the 2 illustrations are excellent

Good work! I like it, specially the hair -nice contrast with the blue background- and the facial expresion, but I´m not convinced about her arm. I think you should have work a little more on the arm anatomy.

I was focused the application of the watercolour I completely forgot about the arm. I swear anatomy always comes back and haunts me.
