Hey

OK, so, Im coming to the end of my school year (fifth year) and after my exams I shall stay on at school as part of the sixth-form (A-levels). Part of my studies will be Art.

My art GCSE results havent been finalised (moderated) but Ive been told that In looking at a high level B. Unfortunately, I didnt do enough good work (I was lazy) in my previous year with coursework to get a higher level: I was saved through my Art exam + preparation.

For my A- level art I will need a topic and I would love to be able to do concept art, even though I havent much experience in that type of work. So basically Ive got around 4 months before I start my A levels and I need to know what I should do. In order for me to prove to myself I can do better I need to take my drawing seriously (Ive always been interested in Art, sketched a lot)

My only good medium is pencil, and while I do understand a fair amount on colours lights and shades, I cant physically paint to save my life.

In preparation for A level (and possibly for a future in Art)
Suggestions:

-Should I work with different types of medium, paint, oil, digital? Learn to paint?
-What types of drawing should I do to improve my skills as both an artist and concept artist- for my A levels?
-Are there any excersises for me to do to improve- (still life, landscape, etc)

OK, not just one question...I hope ive made sense..

Thanks

--- I am currently half-studying Loomis books on figure drawing.
