Hi there everybody :) This is my first post here.. and I make it because I'm kinda confused. The thing is...

Why the hell does everybody think that a speed painting is a time-lapse video of a painting? I've youtube'd Speed Painting lots of times and always the same videos show up with just normal drawings (speeded up in the video, of course..) instead of real speed paintings (doing a painting on a time budget).

Did those terms already get mixed, are those videos really Speed Paintings or it's just youtube? :S
Because if those videos are speed painting, I guess I've been doing speed paintings all my life?..

Just Youtube.

Remember, YT has a maximum filesize/duration so the only way to upload a whole "start to finish" painting is either to split it into 100 chunks or speed it up.

Most commercially produced instructional videos I've seen are speeded up too, it's often the only way to maintain picture quality while fitting it on a DVD.
