I have to sculpt a movie monster so I decided to sculpt him.

He's about 16 in long and about 8 in tall or so.

Still adding texture and smoothing, lot's to do. Will be done soon though.

Great job. Those veins must have taken forever!

the veins were actually one of the easier things to do all of them took only about 5 mins.

My teacher Will Ritter taught me this technique.

What you do is if you're using an oil or wax based clay you can heat it with your torch to where it starts to melt and then I took a little brass tube and started to blow on it, that starts to create little waves that end up looking like little veins which are a little hard looking so I again go over with the torch or some alcohol and soften them.

But it's that simple. Give it a try. I love it.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I've got his name so I know who to sue when I get molten wax in my eye. :P

New pics of the complete brain bug. Minus some leg detail due to the fact that I have to get it off of the board and re sculpt the underside.

It's going to be a two part silicone mould and I will make two part plastic and translucent resin copies as well. I can't wait to get this bad boy done. Hope you all enjoy.
