this is a very cool pice.
i especially like the way you played with the shadows in the cape, and the texture on the arms is a nice touch. simple but effective.

the BG is dull though. you should spend an extra hour on it and it will rock!

The right part of the chest looks a bit flat, in spite of that is cool.

i really like this painting, except that her mouth and nose seem a little too far down on her face also maybe a little bit more highlight on her cape? i dunno i usually dont comment on anything painted cause i really dont know what im talking about

I love this, the style is right up my alley and the Painter usage is always a bonus from me cuz i'm still heavily Photoshop dependent.

I really like the color here. Black is hard to work with without flattening everything out but.. I think you did a good job. The background really pops.

This is quite good! It has a good over feel to it with rendering and style. I'd like it better if you could see all of her but that's just me. After seeing this and not being familiar with your name, I checked out your site and really enjoyed that as well. You have a nice way of depicting your characters.

What types of brushes do you use? Some sort of fine smeary cammel hair or a variation of the oil pastel maybe?

Again, nice work!

Thank you for the compliment! :)

I've been all over the spectrum as far as tools in painter. For this one I just used the 2b pencil for the sketch; cover pencil, a custom felt marker, and a custom blender for the color and refinement; camel hair for the hair. ;)

Very nice.. give it a background, but not winter because then she'd get cold.

Just one question: is the sword tucked inside her shirt, between her breasts?

Just wondering, because that's what it looks like to me.

The skin tone and shadows look fantastic.

Nice design, and beautifully done... but for "character concept" work I'd want to see a full figure piece. What's on her feet? Damn, I'm a crusty ol' stickler! :D
