Necropotence

here's my final illustration from this semester. we were given an open assignment so I chose to redesign a magic card since I would love to freelance for Wizards of the Coast some day soon. The card is called Necropotence, and basically what it does is let you exchange life fore knowledge. It's 18"x24" acrylic on canvas. I think I want to go back in and rework his robe, maybe give him some sort of gold necklace thingy. My teacher said I should add some sort of element coming down from the top left, but I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions and critiques would be great!

Great work looks almost exactly like the card. I agree with your teacher you should throw in some kind of element in the corner that way it looks like he's really using magic.

This is a sweet card, and a great illustration. Very solid, I thought it was a real card. The pages of the books are great.

Maybe a candle for the top left but I'm not sure, might ruin the dark atmosphere and would be something that would need to change the whole lighting of the image. Its great though, I thought it was real for a sec there.
