Hey Angela, oh ya very nice, damn it i want to go to them workshops too ! /end of complaint.

okay so far you told me that you felt the value of the fat on the stomach was too dark, faces look odd and i forget what the others were. But anywho i can not really point out what you can improve on these because i do not have much knowledge or experience in figure drawing. so hopefully me bumping this thread will get more experienced to see this and help crit. keep it up (:

your improvement throughout these posts is evident. I hope you see it/realize it. you've probably seen it a lot, but people on these forums really seem to advocate drawing from life and references (which I see you're doing). people also like to suggest learning anatomy to learn what's going on underneath the surface (I need to get a good anatomy book myself). You can find good stuff on figure drawing from KChen in the Tutorials section of this site. I'm glad to see you found a place to do life drawing, whether you're allowed in there or not. ^^ Keep at it, draw daily, and have fun.

Rock! Your sketches are looking FANtastic.

Only thing I can crit is your painting stuff, because Im not a sketch artist. :) Let see...

Rendering looks pretty good, but it looks 25% done. Is this a WIP? Or did you quit? I see a lot of white and for the most part white is a no no. It almost looks like you were on a white background and some of the canvas is poking through. And of course, the face is more rendered than the rest.

Before I would be able to give you help I would have to know what you were trying to do here? You were not finished with this one.

Now I was talking about the last one. The muscled up guy looks very good for a WIP...lets see you take it a bit further. Pretend you are a sculpter and begin chiseling away at the flesh to create form.

Remember, we are not painting figures, machines, trees, and grass. We are painting light and shadow. We are painting the effect of light on an object.

Hi Angela.
Good work so far.
It's a bit hard to see where the main light is coming from, on his shoulder I would say from the left but on his nose from the right. Also, the microphone and the gun don't seem to be casting a shadow.
His eyes are not looking in the same direction. Flip the canvas now and then to check for these errors. Also, the shoulderarea is very blurry. I would first start with a harder brush, it's easier to make it blurry afterwards then it is to try to sharpen it up afterwards. Hope that makes sense.

Angela, sorry long time no post. your drawings are excellent, i love your style. the still life you did with the skull was great! digital and trad paintings are coming along good too.
I also like your life studies, you seem to have real confidence in your lines.
maybe post some of the larger ones slightly smaller so they're easier to see.

Nice work and great to see the progression. I noticed you have some troubles with the male bodyu from about the ribcage down. Looks like you nail it pretty good when you do the life drawing though and youve definitely been improving as you go along. Keep at it!

ASide from that though, your faces are beautiful, I really like them. Youve got skills in that area for sure!

your expresions look very nice too, your faces are full
of life, and I really enjoy that in faces,
your anatomy is still off in some places, Ill sugesst
you too get Loomis and start doing separate studies
about how certain parts of the body conects, like
sparate studies of how the arms conects to the body
and how the legs conects to the hip per example.

Are you still on that digital painting? one suggestion I would have is varying the color on the head, not only that boring orange but reds, blue, etc. Makes it a lot more lively.

ive noticed how youve gotten better with faces and character designs! very good. i think you should try and use the figure more, your figures and characters tend to be finished down to the torso. feet!! hahah

oh and a suggestion, i think you should fix the size of some of these images, make them like 480 or 500 pixels width, not only will we be able to see all of it. itll take less time to download and save you webspace!!!

here's a progress shot of my mustang. it's pretty messed up cause it's not suppose to look blue.. but it gives a feelin that the car is blue.. sigh it's so confusing
