there are few things in this world That I belive in with all certainty.
but I do know this.
this is who I am,
this is where i am
this is why I am
this is what i am
I am an artist.
I want all of you artists to repaeat this to your selves now.
As i started this portrait I realized something. i felt like I was on the edge of reality. it was very late. I was alone in the still quiet darkness. as I looked in the mirror all of my past seemed but a memory of a dream. the unknown future ahead of me spread out into infinate night, a sea of endless posobilities. but neither of them mattered. all that was important was that moment. there was only me the mirror. and this is my best atemp at capturing that special time in space to share what it means to be an artist and to be alive! so i can offer it to you at this moment.

Life is a strange thing my friend. At first I wasnt as impressed with this one as much as others, but then I read what you had to say and I desided to take a second look. I felt like the look on your face was so much more alive then when I had looked at it 20 seconds earlier. Quite profound.
Im impressed, thoroughly.

of all the portraits you've done i think this is one of my favorites. along with your words this is such a strong piece, it is a very very honest portrait. something about the eyes and the expression really give us a view into that special moment you talked about! simply fantastic and such a great inspiration!

I had to finally break and sign up on this forum. I've been keeping an eye on this site, and your S.P.O.D. threads, in particular, for months, now. Thanks, Andrew, for giving me inspiration. I hope to someday come remotely close to being considered in the lower end of the next league down, from an accomplished artist, such as yourself, as well as the many insanely talented individuals who frequent this forum. heh. You just plain friggin' rock! You're my favorite artist on here, for more reasons than the fact that your artwork is amazing. You maintain humility, despite the fact that your art just floors everyone who sees it. Can't wait for Metroid Prime, by the way.

Like so many others, Andrew, I too have long visited your page and observed your works.
Although I am not good at portraiture, your daily devotion to this has encouraged me to make an effort to improve.
Like any discipline, it is not easy, but when I see your latest creation, I feel renewed, and the words with your portrait of this day TRULY give me hope.
And yes, your humility in the face of your talent and accomplishments makes you all the more amazing. It is a pleasure to be part of your audience.

You're truly amazing. I don't just mean your talent, but also your outlook on life. Seriously, you're a BIG inspiration to me. Don't change a bit.
