Beginning

My dad is pressuring to go to College after I graduate (I'm even having a hard time typing this up) but I don't know which one is good for a beginner artist.

I could go to UIC and get some personal benefits due to its location but I have some doubts.

It's impossible to say what's best for you when we don't know anything about you or your work.

Thanks for pointing me to that thread.
I haven't really started doing much drawing yet, hence why I'm "Beginning". I'll to find something, someone, or do it myself to get started.

I might consider another course such as Writing, Literature or Anatomy, but the problem with these choices is that it's hard to know if it's really worth it.

Why not take a year to take some basic courses and see how you respond? I know that Ringling has a pre-college summer program, and we (Max the Mutt in Toronto) offer a 4 week intensive in July that would certainly give you a sense of whether or not you want to draw all day...or look for local classes during the next academic year so that you can learn, and if it seems right, build a portfolio.

I don't know really -- I really don't like the inconveniences of having to move.
I'll start looking at nearby Art Schools and see what they got. I'll come back here if I'm empty-handed.
