Oh, greate, you obviously understand light very well. I's quite common in painting from observation, but such live lightning in imaginative painting is really cool.

btw. Has these Mushrooms on the top of this thread anything common with Morrowind? I was impressed by originality of evirroment design in this game, and some of your poaintings remind me it.

Whoa, M@'s brother. That's so much fun!
You are posting like a maniac, great to see you are so motivated. the studies you have done look very promising and intresting :)
At the start of your Sketchbook, some of your images showed low contrast, but that has already really improved. So just keep doing what you are doing, it seems to be working :)

Best of luck, and keep up the good work!

Mila - > thank you :)

I am now studying in Finland and I found my self more motivated to create and learn how to draw .
So I am going back to the very basics after had being messy with brush and speedpainting.
I ll try to work essentialy on the values , shapes and proportion .
For that I make studies of Charles Bargue drawing and try to be as accurate as I can to improve my skills.

So there is some studies I have made yesterday . I ll try to keep on posting.

your environments are sweet, and i love the entire page full of sketch faces. your bargue studies are awesome, how long do you usually spend on them?? i love the enviroment with the tree roots sticking out of the ground, although in some of your enviroments i wish some of the shapes were a little more defined however. that just be my own preference. your sketchbook is amazing though, i love the variation in your studies.

Really like the work here. Great sense of lighting.

That latest gestural portrait painting is fantastic. In fact all the paintings a nice gestural feel to them :)

timo. - FUSHANDCHUPS : Thank you a lot guys : )

I am continuing in the same way of simplification of workflow and shape.
Now I am only using the line tool to put quickly the bigs shapes / proportion
and main value , and then I detail with the airbrush and selection tool . I like
this way of working , I am going to try it on different studies to see If I can go
somewhere with it , maybe create new custom brush with it and play more
with the color range for selection , I don't know yet , we'll see !

Here is a cool exercice my brother told me about , trying to capture the essentials of a study with only 15 brushe strokes .

No time limit , no ctrl z , just a limited amount of brush strokes .

It is really a good exercice , at least for me it makes me feel like I learn a lot more , because I am focusing on every action I make. So it fights against the digital habits that is " I can draw quick , undo , and put tones of layers ".
So less randomness , more control / accuracy.

Really cool , here is the one I have done today. More to come I hope. This is so fun.

Thank you timo , we really should make more indeed :D

I have done some architecture study , I try to do some of them as much as possible , here are two of them . I try to be as accurate as I can be , I have a lot of work to do on that, it's fun tho : D

And for once I have started to make an image that is not really speedish , it was for a contest about The Witcher and King , but I havn't manage to handle the deadline well , so I end up without a lot of details , but that's okay , I was more focusing on composition and good shapes , even though a lot of improvement could have been done in the perspective / architecture and the character design, I am pretty happy about the results for the first shot I gave to a more complexe picture than I usually do.
I really would like to make more of these , this is really funny to play with story telling and composition , I would like to spend more time on my drawings now.

Hey man!
First of all I'm really happy to see an illustration from you, since you haven't been doing any of those lately. Photostudies (studies in general) are of course really good, but there's a different kind of challenge in illustrations.
The composition, storytelling and such is something you have to practice also in addition to the technical side of things.

The shapes and colors in the Witcher picture are really cool, and the composition works as well. It was interesting to see that you spent a lot of time for the composition which is a really good thing to learn to do.
I wanna see more of these dude, with some more time spent on the details also. :)

Photostudies are looking good as usually and the 15 brushstrokes challenge is quite an interesting idea, probably will help you in the long run to be much more efficient. Keep it up mate!
