Anyone heard of this dude? He was an old anatomy teacher and doctor from the 1800's. Some of his drawings were used by Menlter. Anyway I'm studying one of his books and here's some of it. http://www.scott-eaton.com/excerpts-from-art-anatomy-by-william-rimmer

I have an old copy of his book, Art Anatomy and found it pretty good. He goes pretty in depth with the how and why about muscles.

Alot of the drawings are over stylized but one could argue it's not unlike Hogarth (in that it's stylized but still has some educational value.)

I'm sure you could pick up a copy of his book over @ alibris.com a great resource for finding used books at great prices. Also, be sure to google search a coupon code for alibris and get a buck or two knocked off your order.

If memory serves, Dover has republished his book, worth a look but not essential. I prefer actual anatomy books (medical references, I mean), to most of the books out there to begin with.

I noticed in the George Bridgeman book he gives a shoutout to Rimmer in the beginning :)

Is it bad to think these drawings are incredibly sexy?

If it's wrong I don't wanna be right.

I love Rimmer. I don't use it as much as my other anatomy or figure books but I find it very valuable.
