Ok So I got this illustration gig here in ecuador, for an art magazine called "Anaconda". I made these pieces for an article/story talking about rural school life of some single women teachers. The editorial staff liked them, but felt weren't rural enough. So made some other ones (which I'll post later). They are titled like this:
1) La Maestra (The Teacher)
2) Lanza Piedras (Stone Throwers)
3) Pobreza (Poverty).
Hope you like! It's all Photoshop by the way.

These are great. The visual language you have developed with the transparency working alongside the hard graphic elements is highly evocative and transports the viewer into a sort of 'echo world of the imagination' kinda thing. I really dig this and look forward to more posts from you!

Chris - thanks for your input man, much appreciated!
JLAlfaro - My bro! Thanks for liking them man, i hope you like the approved ones aswell.
Ok, so here come the approved ones. The initial versions had some "3d" text as part as the design, but they were removed in the end. The subject is kind of different, because in the first 3 tries, I was made to interpret the story to be published as I see fit, but now, they gave me some indications on what to focus on (mainly because of editorial issues and continuity with other articles). They liked them alot, and so did I.. although I still ike the previous versions as well. So here are the finals: this is ink drawing, ink washes + photoshop. Hope you like!
1st - "Escuela Rural" (Rural School).
2nd - "El Almuerzo" (The Lunch).
