News:
1. A Very Special Holiday Sketch Group activity this Sunday!
In the spirit of the holidays, we’re going to be trying a little something special. Giving. Each of us will put our names in a cup, shake it around and pick one. The person you pick then does a little drawing for you in your sketchbook. Only thing is... The artist gets to draw whatever they want. You have no say.... It’s the thought that counts, after all. Merry Happy Holidays.
2. The ASG “Drinkin’ and Drawin’ 2 Pub Crawl” was AWESOME!
It went off like a bad-ass. Thanks to everyone who came and contributed to the experiment... The sketchbook will be posted in a couple of days, but the pics are up at http://austinsketchgroup.com/photos.html
3. Austin Sketch Group Art Show!!!
Let’s get ready for our first ASG ART SHOW, in March @ the Hideout. Tentatively opening on March 9th, right in the middle of South by Southwest. Would love that everyone submits 1-5 pieces of work and have it ready by mid Feb for entry into a printed catalogue. Justin Gordon’s working on sponsors, a band for that night and serpent dancers or firemen or something cool like that. Oh, by the way, space is limited, so some pieces may be turned away so that we can fit everyone into the show. Justin or I’ll post some more info to the ASG Message Board as it becomes available.
4. If you haven’t done so yet, send your photo and samples of your work for the site!!!
