didnt have much time for the BG yet, specailly the left hand side suffers from it obviously, but here's a pencil sketch i did today in my SB.
edit: changed the pose of her left arm a bit, and sketched in some BG after all...better i guess.
hope ya like ;)

P., thanks, and to quote one of my favourite movie lines: "The Dude minds...man" ;) -> i like this activity,i'm quite amazed by the sentences this thing spits out......maybe try and spread the word a little. i will-
about your question, i wish i could do that in watercolor....but it's mostly Photoshop. the fuzzy bits in the BG were done with a grass tip brush in smudge mode in CS2 after i put down some blobs of color.
anyways, thanks for the comment, hopefully i can turn this into a finished piece, i was tinkering with it last night a bit, but didnt make too much progress....the way i see it, the two, or especially the witch, didnt seperate from the BG too well, in general the fore middle BG seperation was still too messy i guess, so i worked on that a bit. their faces are the focal area, so i am goin to do sth there as well, push details a little, also not happy with her left arm at yet....

Hi Jpedro that looks fantastic! :) Love the watercolour effect, know what you mean though about mastering actual watercolours to that level without having seperate layers or undo lol :D Though you've given me a great idea to do colour sketches like yours before doing a watercolour to iron out the glitches before commiting any colours/effects etc.
Just noticed, her arm looks like it's just a little too near her head, difficult to tell without the ref. also might tie in better if it was a little redder like the right arm.
anyway hope that's useful.
p.s shame it's not popular thread, I think I'll have a go on the next challenge

yeah well... I guess it`s all about location, location, location...
if this activity were to be up there in the 'official weeklies' section, perhaps more people would have taken notice.

Here's my attempt.
I'm trying to improve my traditional drawing skills, so I just stuck to pencils here, concentrating on basic art theory, structure, etc.
Also, great work by jpedro above, particularly the translucent quality achieved at the coloring stage.
