caricature portraits of a couple friends of mine

A copy of one of richard shmid's paintings.. i wanted to see if i could mimic his brushwork with a ballpoint pen.. kinda ambitious really..

yeah, the animals were from a book i have, and the asian girl was from a Wu Tang DVD heh.. the pause button is invaluable.. dvds are a good way to find expressions to draw that are hard to find anywhere else

Hey nice work man:)

Can you give me a rundown of process and tools, paper weight etc used in the 3rd image(girl leaning on hand).
Great piece.

started out with a pencil drawing
used a tombow brush pen to get the contours i wanted
letraset inks to get the dense darks in her face and hair
colored pencils to model the face and hands
just a teensy bit of gouache in the face
came back with the tombow and ran a wet brush over the hair and background to get the cool flashy brushstrokes..
