Another Middle Class challenge:
* Character Design: Two different pirates (setting classic Caribbean), a captain, and a ship's boy or a sailor
* Technique: 2D, no matter whether color or b/w, any media may be used
* optional: process shots and research work
* optional: environment/surrounding
We both depend on reference material, thus we will use it for our works
...yohoh... and a bottle of rum...! :D :chug:

very well milady....
nice prelim. A few constructive crits:
*Expression: "The Sad Pirate?" make him snarly or something - its suggested in his pose, but not his face. You could also go for a 'debonair'(sp?) look like jonny depp in pirates of the caribbean.
*Pose perspective: whether in actuality it is an error or just an optical illusion, he looks to be leaning back because he is too narrow at the top.
Wasnt another pair doin pirates?
good work jes, keep it up. come on cashmere ya clown, get movin!
AND HAPPY NEU YURRR!

Ha Ha , Jester, I know that your pirate: yeah, years ago he worked with me but a day he escaped from the galleon and he brought with him a couple of swords and the captain's gun.
We will never forget this offense !! Ha Ha
Mmm, today, during a battle, my great captain found a strange map.
I think your pirates are hidden there He He He

Baaaahahahaha the 'mystery clown' love it! Altho i suppose Jester should be the one called clown.....hahaha. I like that sketch of the map - is it just a coincidence that Jest island is a boring lump and mere island has cool bays and schtuff? Methinks not.

Cashmere, that map made my day! What a funny idea (though I feel a bit gudgy about what form mentions, your island is much more interesting than mine!).
I'll take up that gauntlet, just wait a few days!

This is my final image for Thunderdome 7.
The map,
two wicked sailors without face,
a dreamer captain named Captain Sketch,
tracking the sun in his galleon, the Mistery Clown
and the battle...

Cashmere,
plz do so - I don't know whether I manage to do my young sailor in time, but I will post my pirate anyway later this evening (still busy and I'll have a meeting at 19:00).
Your entry looks great and I had fun with this, too :D

Conceptart in its true sense - just a fast sketch to visualize my idea. Not nice, not perfect, not a true Thunderdome candidate but - what the hell, I did the best I could in the few moments i had.

MindCandyMan, I think we all are learning much from this experience that is really useful !
Jester, you did a Great Pirate Captain and I would like to see this sailor complete! Really.
Even if thunderdome is finished, please, if you can, if you find the time, Damn!
Make The Best Sailor You Can Do !! ;)

Thanks a lot, Cashmere, but I know myself. It's usually "off to new shores...!!!" :D
I still have to finish my friends birthday present (which was due 30th September last year...) and I'm only half way through. However, this Thunderdome experience gave me the self confidence to get back to this project.
Anyway, I loved the way you implemented all those pirate elements like maps, hooks and galleons - GREAT!
