Finally made one! Any type of critique is appreciated.

Hello CA! My name is Dez, I'm 17, heavily addicted to tacos, and hoping to go to an art school soon!

That taco makes me laugh. He's got that look on his face saying he's going somewhere. ♥

Can't wait to see you post more, this stuff looks pretty great. Love the melted ice-cream thing.

Great work here! The studies are good, also the other work. On the studies, you could push the lights a bit further, making the reflections stronger. Anyway, keep up the work! it would be nice to see more from you.

This is a great start to a book. The studies are very nice. You just might need to up the contrast a little bit and pay closer attention to the distance between the jaw and the nipples.

The running taco is love. <3

Thank you guys! And thanks for the crits!

I almost forgot I had a Sketchbook! I was also gone for a while, which gave me time to doodle a ton of stuff. Unfortunately, my scanners dead. Nooo! So here's a small update. I don't really color images like this, but I gave it a try.

Maybe if you put a more simpler background it will make your character more stand out. Checkerbox pattern can be tricky to implement as background. ;P

Otherwise I like your character from post #5. Keep it up with the practice. :)

I like what you have here, Steam. However, I would like for you to do stuff that you haven't done before.

Your cell shading is very nice and clean. That bright back-lighting looks pretty and I see a lot of artists that do it, but sometimes it can work against you and flatten your figures. In your case the dragon creature's arms, leg, and tails look less rounded with that sharp color on the edge. A gradual value change in those areas will help round things out. Also, generally reflected light that is brighter than the lit planes on a figure are a bit visually confusing.

@FightingSeraph - Thanks! And can do!

@JJacks - Thank you for the advice! I knew it looked kinda flat but I wasn't sure how to fix it.

Your off to a good start and you have some very competent sketches, i would like to see you take one of your digital paintings taken to a finish, good work.

The 5th pic you posted is amazing, wow, what color. Just really great, it's got a anime color feel to it, reminds me a little of Tekkonkinkreet. Hope to see more from you, take care.
