The Celtic warrior gazes on the floating citadel, Dún na Mallacht, fort of the curses of the witch queen Cailleach. This is part of a Celtic themed series I'm working on.
Unless some one who has managed to break the spell stumbles across the castle all they will see are the ruins of a castle in the lake. The Witch queen exerts a strong form of Glamour magic to hide her abode from those who would destroy her. The warrior has through his adventures discovered her secret and searchs for a way to penetrate her fortress and ultimately kill her.
Some minor differences as this was an earlier version to the finalised version with the floating castle. Cheers

I am loving the amount of detail on this, especially in the foreground. That warrior looks almost photorealistic. Really nice job, and an interesting story to boot!

The object in the distance seems to be of some importance, wouldn't it be set in a lake of a perfect circle? So as to have the environment support it? Nice colours anyway

Dued. This is really beautiful. I love everything but I especially love those rocks. I have such a hard time with natural stuff like that, you should do a tutorial on how you painted those rocks and how you got such a good composition and feeling of distance and realism in the final painting.

Wow is another world I could use here. Love the dram in the scene especially the light in the fortress. Makes it seem as if someone forgot their lights on. Global warming yo...lol
Well done...
