roughs layers

I did a search I could not find any thing on this.

My questions do most people scan a pencil sketch in ?

If you sketch in painter how can you tighten the rough up,

with layers?

Here, here. Does anyone use the wacom for sketching? How?

I am trying, oh god, am I trying, but it's -far- different than I had expected. I never realized how often I turn my sketchpad for an easier angle, and I never really noticed before how I tend to sketch with lots of stray lines, which I then erase to make a nice line that goes where I want it to.

Only, this seems to take forever with the tablet.

Hi,

Others will give you more tips about sketching and making clean lines but here's one feature Painter offers that helps a lot:

Click the E key to activate the Rotate Page tool, then click and hold while dragging your image to temporarily rotate the entire image to whatever angle you want and draw more comfortably at odd angles.

Click the B key to activate the Brush tool and continue drawing.

Click the E key, then click and hold while dragging again to rotate the image to another angle.

When you're finished, with the Rotate Page tool active (E key), click in the image to snap it back to it's normal upright position.

You can always use one of the Erasers' brush variants to clean up stray lines.

That sounds immensely helpful! Thank you! Although I'd gotten decently okay at doing all this crazy angling of my arm in order to achieve a little better control, har.

I've been using the erasers, but my control over the brushes is still kind of dicey. (I've only had the thing for a week or so.) It's getting easier though, and that ability should help a lot.

Hi again,

A couple of other things that may make it easier to work:

1. Click the [ key to decrease brush size or click the ] key to increase brush size.

If you hold down either of these keys, the brush size will increase or decrease continually until you let go.

In Edit > Preferences > General, you can set the increase and decrease increments in pixels so clicking either of these keys will increase or decrease brush Size by, for instance, 1 pixel, or 4 pixels, or whatever you want.

2. To change brush Opacity in 10% increments, click the number keys 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 0.

1 = 10%
2 = 20%

etc., and ...

0 = 100%
