this is currantly my most recent work. this is *VERY* early on, as i have only given things a rough layout. i wanted to give a rare angle of war raveged streets by showing it through the bombed out store fronts. i wanted to get your guys's opinion on this for one main reason, but also for a over all critique. When i started this, i had a general idea what i wanted, and that was to have a soldier hiding from a enemy patrol, but now i think i could successfully take it a few ways. should i have it as enemy soldier hiding, a dead body just for effect or what? note ill go over all the straight lines again, and make sure there up to perspective. the pot on the right side 's perspective looks a little wrong, but not enough to really jump out at me and identify itself. also, the jumpjet thing flying from the ally is supposed to be on the same team as the patrol, and when im done shading, it will look like dust and debris not fire coming from the exaust... thats about all i can see off hand... oooooh, also, for clarification, the boarder will be dark black, as i want it to appear as if the soldiers on the street are shining their lights in. again, this looks like crap now.

I like where this is going. I wish that it was more refined but I get it. I think that you should kill the overhead light on the right though. The glare might mess with the rendering of the ship. For what I see thats the best that I can do. Good luck with it

This is going to rock. My personal oppinion I would like the guy inside to be an enemy soldier all beat up like hed been through hell and is just trying to survive. Maybe have half his helmet torn off or bullet wholes that just missed vital organs or something.

Rock on I want to see it finished!!

Looks good
Sweet design of soldiers and "helogunship".
Only things I can crit is that:
- the guys standing outside looks to much like the guy inside
- the walls of the building is to thin maybe?

Looks like a killer-piece is in the making :D

Yeah looking good.... :)
Agree with the other comments. Could be cool to give the room the poor guy's in a context.... maybe a dinner and he's inbetween tables with stuff strewn allover them?? And yeah the wall seems a bit thin to me aswell. Maybe even a bit more street detail, street lights? But that might make it too busy? hmmm... Gonne be cool!

My only comment here is that the soldiers are very similar in style to Mamoru Oshii's Jin-Roh. The helmets, goggles, and masks are very alike.

Ahh Jin-Roh. good flick. Yes it does look a bit like them doesn't it? Not a bad thing, and I doubt its on purpose. But I would try and make your soldiers stand out from the crowd, up to you.

Only thing that bugs me is that floating ship, its either to small, or there is too much detail for it to be that close. If its up close, it must not be made for people to be inside, make it look more like a robot and not a human carrying machine. If its meant to be in the distance, you will have to get rid of some of the detail and make sure it has low contrast.

Anywho, keep it up. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this comes out. So hurry up :P.

first off, thanks for all your comments...

second... in regards for the jinrohness of it, all i have to say is, i have never seen the movie, and i was going for more of a killzone look to it (awesome looking game) imo, this peice is dead, i have a 'final' out and im pretty sure i ruined it. it was a good idea, but it only worked in my head... if/when/*prays* i get a wacom i might fix this up, but to get the desired effect, i really need color, and i have no means to do that now. on a light note, the hovering gunship (which is a drone) was a origional concept that i have since played around with and really like! ill be posting a standalone of it soon
