They say your should do something that scares you every day, so this is my effort at trouser-soiling terror

I know i rely far too much on linear/pen based stuff. I'm not from a "painting" background so its what i'm least comfortable with. I feel a bit clueless, but youve got to start somewhere...

..So heres a couple of 40 minute (yes, 40!) sketches

The valuable thing about any exercise like this is it shows you quite clearly how much room for improvement there is.

Rusty as hell, but i'm hoping that improvement is a gradual but noticeable process!

The first one looks really good! The girl in the second one looks really emaciated though, like, sickly thin. But again, the first one looks great!

if i keep going i may eventually be able to draw people that look healthy - in the meantime gaunt and starving it is :)

The first one is fantastic. The rest are good too but I dont want to say anything else until you add more detail.

thanks for the comment, but right now i'm avoiding getting into detail work - i just want to get more confident blocking things out with colour and mixing etc. A lot to learn...

yeah i need to learn blockn and just every darn thing..

i really dig those two and from quick rendition i think this is what employers would be looking for....

hee hee i thought wile reading this was gonna be nightmare stuff-

the biggest nightmare is thinking how long its going to take before i do anything that makes peoples eyes pop...
