Orc troubles

I started working on this orc last night for the orc thread. Its rough ... and the background is sloppy but I'm still working on it. I need comments on the face and if you can think of a background that would fit with the lighting I already have blocked out that would be great! I'm pretty inexperienced with painting from scratch in PS and I'm horrible at coloring.

orcs are a fighter class... more str and hp and less mana, dex, etc.
although he seems to have a rough expression, he's not rough at ALL and his body is pretty much... weak as in resistence

his ears make him a lot more vulnerable and if u look well at him

I guess u could compare him to the Grinch...

but the drawing itself is good.

I am being a jerk cuz its CONCEPTUAL art, and u oughta think about the external conditions...

Although I would put it in more of a goblin or elf classification, it looks great. I think you need more details, but I love the cheeks.
Keep up the original work.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking too.

Actually I worked on this more, and my friend said it should be more beefy, since its an orc ... so I buffified his neck and shoulders, but then the smile didnt look right, so i made his smile into a straight face ... then it looked dumb, then i flipped the image like everyon reccomends, and it looked HORRIBLE ... so I banished the picture to the depths of my C drive.

dont listen to whoever said 'dont listen to them'....listen to them. people are trying to help you.

and whoever said 'do something lord of the rings style'....why? lord of the rings style orcs have already been done. in lord of the rings. how about something no one has seen before? (sorry nickbachman...just wanted to drive the point home cause its a good one.)

instead of trying to fix this one...why not draw a bunch more and get the idea right from the start? show us what you can do.
