GOD DAMNIT!!!!
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU BOSS IS A DICK!!!!
I'VE DONE EVERYTHING RIGHT, I'VE STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE AND MADE MY JOB MINE. I'VE CREATED A SYSTEM THAT KEEPS ALL 5 STORYBOARD ARTISTS WORK, INCLUDING MY OWN, ORGANIZED!!! BUT FOR THIS SYSTEM TO WORK, EVERYTHING THAT COMES TO ME MUST BE COMPLETE. IF THESE THINGS ARE NOT COMPLETE, IF THEIR NOT LABELED PROPERLY, NUMBERED PROPERLY, IN PROPER ORDER, OR IF THERE ARE PAGES THAT I DONT FUCKING NEED, IT FUCKS UP THE SYSTEM!!! BUT I KNOW THAT IT HAPPENS ON ACCIDENT SOMETIMES, SO I HAVE EVOLVED THE SYSTEM TO TAKE CARE OF THESE PROBLEMS!!!
BUT NOW MY BOSS KEEPS GIVING ME SHIT THATS ALL OUT OF ORDER, NOT NUMBERED, AND THERES PAGES THAT AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THERE!!!! AND WHEN I ASK ABOUT THEM HE SAYS "FIGURE IT OUT"
FUCK THAT!!!!
I'M THE ONE THAT SET THE FUCKING STANDARD GOD DAMNIT!!! NOT MY BOSS!!! I CREATED THE SYSTEM!!! NOT MY BOSS!!!! WE ALL AGREED TO THIS SYSTEM, BUT NOW ITS FALLING TO SHIT BECAUSE I HAVE TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF WHAT IM DOING TO DO HIS JOB, TO "FIGURE IT OUT"
WTF!!! WHAT CAN I DO!????!!!

just to let you guys know, so far i have been taking this shit and doing it without complaint. but im getting really fucking tired of it.
im only getting paid $425.00 a week, for 50hrs a week.
and im actually working on average around 120hrs a week.
so im a little tired and sore and frustrated.
my boss isn't really a dick, he's just tired, sore, and frustrated also. so its really hard to complain. my boss is a great guy, but things are getting pretty harry right now.
so, what do i do?
keep on keepin on? or should i say someting?

Damn! I'd say something.
I couldnt just stand going through that all the time. Step up, and if you get fired, well then maybe they deserved losing you. IF your job is to high of a risk to you, then be careful. But dont just take it. Tell him!

yeah, its tough. this is my first job in the field.
so im striving to impress everyone else that works there, you know, the rest of the team. and his bosses. thats why im busting my ass for a small sum of money, and biting the bullet as much as possible. im just afraid the bullet's gonna explode in my mouth and i'm gonna say something in anger or frustration to him in front of some one else. so im pretty stressed trying to balance everything.
one thing that i have realized though that's calmed me down, and hopefully will make my life easier, is that either way, we fail. theres no way in hell that we can meet our deadline. period. so, theres no use in stressing out over not getting it all done. i just have to do as much as i can, and when i cant do anymore, i say fuck it, set it aside, and move on to something i can do.
im gonna try that until our deadline, then im gonna go eat maccaroni and cheese with spam chunks in it, make myself sick and take a couple of days off. haha. just kidding.
i think this whole post was me just blowing off steam. its all over now i think.
if i freak out again, i'll update the thread!! yay!!

Such zeal, such as you displayed, is something hopefully your boss is aware of...
because it seems that if he lost you the whole thing would just sink before it could float...
i would say something, cause quite possibly without you they couldn't have done half the work they completed...

Speak out for your rights - as long as you're reasonable, and propose a solution, you'll be all right

thanks for the comments guys. i truly apprecitate it.
we've talked now, everything is fine. i basically told him
that he's always talking to me about following standards,
and that he wasn't following them himself. he admitted
this and apologised. so now we're back to it, tomorrow is
the deadline so i'll be here all night doing everything i can.

I am glad you talked.
First off I can understand your dilemma, I worked for your boss for quite awhile when I was younger and he is very frustrating to deal with at times and you should stand up to him, But I will say he will stick his neck out for you every time when you need it, and He stuck his neck out just to get you that Job you have now, Which i might add again is your first job...it's been 3 years since you graduated and you are complaining about how much you are making when that is pretty damn good for someone just starting their career, that is about what most new guys make...Who do you think you are? why do you deserve more? what did you do that is so great? nothing. There are great people out there who would like to work.
I will not show any of this to your boss (whom i do know) because we all make mistakes but you need to understand that the entertainment industry is very small and alot of people know someone else...Never bad mouth someone unless it is justifiable or you are just playing around which this was not. it can actually affect your career from now on...I cannot stress the importance of this to you, you do not want to start walking the plank before you got anywhere.
So grow up and take your lumps just like all the rest of us, do you have a better alternative?

whoa dude, you completely misunderstand my post!!
truly!! no i think my boss is awsome!! he is a great guy, and i know that he's stuck his neck out for me multiple times. its just crunch time here really bad, and we're all a little nuts right now. i just needed to have a little explosion. thats all. and oddly enough i was already thinking of showing him this thread cause i thought it would be funny to show him how i freaked out. and i probably will. in fact, i'll probably do it tonight. he knew i was frustrated and freaking out a little anyway.
i apologise if i offended anyone with this post.
i just freaked out a little, had to get it out and get my job done at the same time. this wasn't a situation where i could just go home and clear my head and come back the next day and be ok. i had to keep working, get my job done, so i blew off the steam here in this thread, and went right back to it.
i do appreciate my job. i appreciate everything my boss has done for me, and im hoping this makes sense. but right now, i have alot of work to do, and i need to get back to it.
oh, and about the pay thing >i wasn't complaining. what im making now is way better than what i was making at the used bookstore. i just brought that up to show that im not doing this for the money. im doing it because i love this job and i want to make it permanent. so im giving 110% everyday.
ok
i gotta go now...
im sorry. this just came out all wrong.

Did you reach the deadline in time, or not? I guess crunch time for you is over now right. Anyway, how did it go? I would say good luck but its a bit late :D

well, we got damn close to getting everything done. real real close. and it didn't really matter when the hasbro people took a look, cause they liked everything. so now we're finishing it all up. theres still pressure to get it done quickly, but not as bad as before. (as far as i can tell)
and yes, i showed my boss the thread. from what i can gather about his reaction he thought it was funny. he set himself up with an account but hasn't had the time to respond.
i hope he does that soon. mainly cause i want to know what he has to say. (he wont tell me what hes going to say)
well,
okie dokie
im off to work
