Hello
I've just joined so I thought I'd submit an introduction piece and a test to see if I can post images.
As I'm unemployed at the moment, thanks to the rubbish UK games industry, I'm working on exbanding my portfolio with aim of looking for work overseas. This site looks like a great resource and I look forward to picking up some great advice.

I did these last week in a comic book style I really enjoy doing. They are some of first personal work I've had time to do in over 10 years!!.
Its inspired by the idea of a sequel to John Carpenters The thing...

I hope this works:)...comments always welcome

Nice work..the last one reminds me of something out of H.P.Lovecraft. Very nice lighting on the second one. good stuff

These are great! I had a little trouble distinguishing what was going on in the first one, but the last two are just awesome! Cool style and good colors; you've got great mood in those.

Cheers guys!
Zerowave I'll take the lovecraft reference as a compliment cos I was trying to catch that sort of vibe!
Yeah your right Rusty, the top one just came from a doodle, which never really came under hard enough scrutiny...tis chaotic I know.
thanks again.

Really beautiful, i like alot. The first and second remind me of a Akira, while the third piece reminds me of the flood from halo, those big plant zobie things, but sweet nonetheless:)

wow...this is what i needed. I love the expression in the second one, and the sense of scale in the 3rd. The first is a bit confusing for me, but then that seems to be the idea.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I doubt you realise what it means to me. As I've spent the last 6 years on undeveloped or canned projects (including one I spent 2 years on), I've been very frustrated lately. I have seriously thought about jacking in this business, I was starting to think there was no market for my stuff. As a sad needy old artist, a bit of positive feedback has really given me a boost to do more work! My sincerest thanks.

...and the otomo/mobius reference, hands up, I am a shameless and inferior rip of both those guys styles but I reckon western games need more mobius/otomo influences dammit:)

I will try to keep stuff clearly defined and not too cluttered.
