Hey everyone. I'm lookin for some good artist's books and/or fantasy books. Old or new, from contemporaries, or the masters. I just recently got some money, and wanted to know what books you guys own, and which ones you suggest.
These are the ones I have:
-The art of star wars episode I & II
-Norman rockwell's america
-Capcom design works
-Spectrum 4-10
-The dinotopia books
-Pop bot
-Jon foster's book
My main library is of fig drawing books and such, so I need more of the cool pictures books :)
Care to add to the list?
P.S Here's a great resource for fantasy books and such: http://budplant.com/

I dunno if this fits in but i consider dune to be the best sci fi novel ever written and having an illustrated version is even cooler

I don't know if these guys make art you like, but I thought I'd mention them. I don't have any specific book recommendations because I've only looked at them at my school's library.
Vuillard and Bonnard are two painters from the early 20th century whom I really like. I suppose they're post-impressionists. They've got somewhat similar styles.
Morandi is another early 20th century painter to check out. Good example of limited pallete painting.
JMW (or is it JWM) Turner is a favorite impressionist landscape painter of mine.
Might as well throw Degas in here too. I really like his ballerina paintings.
If I had money to spend on books, I'd buy some on these guys.

I suppose Christmas is coming up, though. Hmm...Marc Chagall, Cezanne, Edvard Munch, Toulouse-Lautrec. I suddenly have the urge to go to a bookstore.

I have the art of star wars Ep 2 and its great i love Lain McCaigs stuff in it, plus many more.
One maybe to add to the your list could be Masters of Dragonlance art. I also picked this up a while ago, some really nice stuff in there. Theres some Brom in there. And then theres the art of final fantasy, a little more CG then drawing and painting, but a good book none the less.

Munch? Ugh. Judging by the stuff you have, I would not recommend Munch. Then again, I would never recommend Munch.

Given that I'm a huge Wayne Barlowe fan I'll have a go at pimping his stuff.
