Hi folks,
Now that Wheelman is hitting stores this week, I have been given permission to post a bunch of Publicity art and concepts. I will be updating this thread a couple of times in the very near future as there will be plenty to look at. Ranging from early concepts, storyboards speedpaints and detailed conceptual pieces.
Enjoy! :yayca:

Lotsa boom, but my favorite piece is the quiet back alley scene. Really nice and atmospheric.

Agreed.
And something about the fire in each is just not feeling authentic. Not sure that's the way I want to say it, but the feel of the flames..IDK, feels kinda off.

nice job - did you use 3D or photo manip for the alley scene - i agree that one is really nice - great work! - but your fire rendering is really impressive.

Thanks guys!
This was a great game to work on, after the main concept work was done I was given the task of coming up with the publicity art, I had to personally deal with Vin and his production company (Tigon) .. we went through numerous changes, especially with the main box art. Mr Diesel is quite picky when it comes to his appearance .. as these movie stars are! :lifedrawing: . but I got there in the end!.
He`s actually a cool guy and last Christmas he sent me a signed holiday card and an Ipod with the Tigon logo embossed into it :teeth: for all the pain he put me through!!!
Here`s a few more to keep you guys going till I get permission to post more goodies in a couple of days.
Enjoy! :uzi:

Wow, these are great!!! I agree with space-sprayer, that first city shot in the new batch looks incredible. Really nice atmosphere in all of these. Did you use some 3D or photos for the vehicles?
They all are pretty dynamic as well. Really good job in capturing all the motion in these. My favorite is bikecombat.jpeg.
Looking forward to some more stuff from you. Thanks for sharing!!!

Really great work. The action shots are quite jaw dropping, really amazing fire effects strokes in them. Haven't heard that much of the game before seen this, it surely made an everlasting impression to check it out. Thanks for sharing.

Hi again everyone!
Well as promised, here`s an new batch of goodies for you. These concepts should give you a good idea of the sort of work I have dealt with during the process of making this game.
In time I will try and answer as many questions as possible about the methods and thought processes that went into this stuff.
The Marketing art was executed using mostly CS3, Through photo comp, 3d renders and good old digital paint. Actually the cars where ingame models but painted over to give them some realism. The landscape speedpaints were a mixture of Painter 9 and CS3 And the detailed landscapes started out as basic 3D blockouts.
It would be cool to get some feedback on the game itself, let me know if you bought it or just downloaded the demo!
Anyhoo .... here we go! :yayca:

Beautiful and Inspiring! Thanks for sharing!
Do you have a website/portfolio? I would love to see more of your images, and perhaps some process shots?
I downloaded the demo so far..
I thought it was quite interesting, nice to see new things tried with the genre. (some cool quite cinematic moments in the explosions).
The character models looked like they could have used a bit more rendering power (perhaps only for the cutscenes).
I'll give it another go and see how your concepts translated across.

holly sh*t. your skill is amazing.
Can I ask what you used for some of the first ones. It looks like you have made 3D models and then finished it off in photoshop or such like? or is it all done in a painter program.
Its so realistic and the depth is just so good. it looks real

Hi All
I worked with Pete (Jedi Halen), on the Wheelman project as well, I did more of the production concept art, the stuff the world builders would work from.
So here are a few, and in the comming days I will post more, most of the enviroments are basic 3D renders or in game screen renders then final details, textures, and lighting done in Photoshop.

Hi all
These three pics were done for web promotion, they ended up in a mini concept art booklet, that was done for the russian pc version of the game.
These are the ingame character models, that I just posed up, renderd and touched up in photoshop.

Hi Again guys,
A few of you were asking about seeing a step by step image, Quite a few of our concepts where done using the basic 3D blockout render in Unreal. that way we can check on the gameplay even before the concept would be finished.
It was the usual process of basic block color followed by photo drags and finally dirt texture and lighting.
