Hey guys. I've just recently become more interested in trying to paint in a Gonzo sort of fashion. I've only practiced with acrylics and spray paint so I'm not so well-informed when it comes to the tools of the trade.
I was wondering if anyone knew the basic techniques and tools behind Gonzo art?
...and I defiantly already posted this in the wrong section
ha oops..
dont you love newbies?

I don't know how well Muppet fan-art will go over here at CA but give it a shot, I'd like to see it.
If you mean drawing like Ralph Steadman, then all you need is a brush, some ink, and hell of a lot of confidence. A google search for Gonzo painting finds this thread, so I'm not sure if my response applies.

I laughed way too hard at this.
btw, I love gonzo style, so sure go ahead. this site isn't all realistic fantasy/sci-fi, y'know. I know it's the main focus of this site, but we're all artists, and I've seen every genre in here.
Ooh woops, I forgot that you asked a different question.
Most Gonzo Art I've seen done is usually brushes with different color india ink, or water colors, but really it's a style, not a medium, I've seen oil gonzo and acrylic to. since you know acrylic, I'd stick with what you know unless you want to learn something else (wouldn't hurt) but use india ink before painting with acrylic, as india ink wont work ontop of dried acrylic.
