I remember seeing a post with various contract samples some time ago. I never needed to write a contract to send to the client on my own, publishers usually did that after we had discussed the rights and fee situation.
But now I need to write one myself for a logo I am making for a band and quite frankly I have no idea how to begin writing this thing.
I tried to find the post in the forums but no luck. Could anyone post the link? Or anything else of the sort that could help?

You should check out the book Business & Legal Forms for Fine Artists (http://www.amazon.com/Business-Legal-Forms-Fine-Artists/dp/1581154283/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1237819118&sr=1-1) by Tad Crawford. It has sample contracts in the back for such occasions. The forms, as I understand it, are royalty free so if you can find a copy in a library, or get the book on interlibrary loan, you can just make a copy and tweak for your own needs.
The Graphic Artists Guild book also has sample contracts and advice on their website: http://www.gag.org/contracts/agreement.html

It may also be online (the older edition) over on Google Books. I happened to recommend the one for Illustrators by Tad Crawford for another CA artist the other day. :)
