I'm having trouble refining my painting to be more crisp. Generally they come out very blurry. I've seen people say just do 'more detailing,' and maybe I'm just stupid, but I don't understand what that actually involves. I get that you're probably supposed to zoom right in with a hard edged brush, but what then?

Any hints or links to tutorials covering this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

A image would help but I think know what your talking about. I actually had a thought about this recently an I think that the blurry cg effect is usually caused by one of two things.

Misuse and abuse of the blending tool and a lack of use of edges.
Are the edges sharp, dull, is it dull one side and sharp on the other etc.

depending on you exact problem a little simple texture might not hurt either.

You should try using the unsharp mask filter when you're done painting. It makes a huge difference.
