elf warrior concept....

a concept of an elfish kind of warrior.... i was experimenting with brushes..... and love the the new textures ive always just used one brush... is painter much better to achieve a more traditional painting look.... cause i have problems some times fidaling with a round brush trying to make unique shapes and textures.... but let me know what you guys think.. and now begins thunderdoom cant wait to start working on that!!

hi,
this is a really wonderful illustration. although u left alot of areas unresolved, seems u run out of patience toward the bottom of the painting, but the focus of this painting is beautifully crafted. as a concept, i think it's somewhat lacking on design. u could push it further... like the warrior's physical features and his clothing. i like ur work as always.

your very right!!! i cant slip anythign by you guys.. i did leave some elements unrendered and unexplained. but wanted to pump this out so i could get started on the thunderdoom stuff....my websites down for now... im planning on getting some more work done, concepts, paintings, models, textures. adn then gonna put it back up with a better layout and more presentable webpage... heh, my last one was crap, but just was a storage palce to me... thanks for replie!

I really like the faces colours, but for some reason I don't think it's the right nose....maybe it's to big.

his vest is nicely done, the only way I can think of improving it is by adding some details like a couple of pockets ,bags or whatever.

Mind if I ask what version of painter you are using, and what brushes it is?

i use photoshop 7. i was just wondering if painter would be better for what im tryign to acheive..

looks very baldurs gate to me...as for the nose i think its cos the red tip you have on it is cut off very squarely. try smudging it up a bit so it blends more..

Not at first....the brush engine in painter is way more complex than the already excellent one in PS. and if you are used to photoshop and all it's shortcuts, than painter is very stiff in the beginning.

this peice is good. the kinda sense that the warrior has about him is overpowering, good work!

Hes right eye is kind running off the face to fix that you need to make more stucture on the right side of his face. try and fix his cheek bone and it will look better
