...paintings (concept art, masters, etc.) where the main light source is cool, particularly ones good enough to study off? Paintings of overcast sky situations will also be very helpful for me.

You could do worse than checking out the light in Jacek Yerka's pieces. He rarely paints sharp shadows and although his subjects are surreal a lot can be learned by looking at how he handles illumination.
