Topic:
Bad ass Alien hunter or warrior.
description:
I was thinking since we both love creatures and sorts what about we both do a design of a wicked space hunter like alien which could kick the predator and ALIEN ass. We could include prelimenary sketches etc and final design BW front and side view or as many views variations you want, and then put it in an action scene..hunting or whatever..fighting etc. The action scene should be in color any 2d medium you want digital or traditional. The goal is realism and a design that the best sculptors and 3D guys could use to model from.
This is no joke this shit needs to be bad ass.
rules:
keep the creature bipedal, you cannot use a past design or sculpture to help with the final image, absolutely no refrence whatsoever only your pure imagination and raw drawing and painting abilities.
Any questions please ask.

Thanks guys for the posts,
I'm getting tired of having this thread empty so I've decided to post some works in progress and some designs that I'm happy with but not quite there. This first one I liked enough to develop into a watercolor and oil piece.

These next two are watercolors, these are still to humanoid, but I like the colors.

More development..

I always like to use a diffrent process when using traditional medium. Here I started with an inked drawing..added watercolors and then lastly with oils. The final was about 8x10 inches. Cant wait to see Petey's stuff.

These are extraordinary!
I love the 2nd creature the most. One thing I'd suggest, is making him a little taller(it seems as though he's around 6 heads tall, and if he was closer to 8, imo he'd look cooler).
Can you please give us a link to a high res pic of the 5th pic. It's the second sketch.
I wanna make a print of it and have it by my comp. That is one great sketch! :)

Thanks everyone for your comments it encourages me to work harder and do art for myself which is what need more of.
Dan,
Thanks so much buddy, and the feeling is mutual much respect. When I see your work I see the power and motion that alot of the legendary illustrators had like Bucema and Frazetta but ofcourse your style is your own.

tHANKS ALOT thats a great suggestion, though I was planning on making him a big boy in the final design about 7 to 8 feet high or bigger. I dont post high res of my stuff because of copyright issues many people will print this suff and try to make a buck, but I know thats not your intent. I'll do another book with more drawings and sketches and I'll defonately include this one..will that do for you IWASINK?
tyboogie,
Yes I do digital paintings over my sketches all the time..where you been man Ive been posting that stuff all around CA.. he he ;) here is a sample:

Here's more or less what I was aiming for, an agile but complex critter with many gadgets..detail and doo hickies. So its progressing. Pencil ink and colored pencils.
