When I'm grown up, i wanna be an artist.

Hey Guys !

I'm philipp, born and living in austria/ vienna, and as the thread title says motivated to take art more serious.
As a child I loved painting and drawing and spent the most time at kindergarden in front of our easel. I think this is also the origion of my passion to art.
In the last years I spent more time on playing computergames, sports and doing things for grown up people ;)

But about a year ago i found back to my artistic part, and stumbled over this forum. Lots of the digital artworks here impressed me a lot and 2 weeks later I was a proud owner of a wacom tablet.
As I was very busy the last year my advances were very poor.
So, in the next months I will have lots of time and hope that I will use this to improve my art skills.

This thread was mainly inspired by Algenpflegers sketchbook ( thank you btw :) ), and so I also want this to be more a learnbook.
So I m very happy and thankful about every critisism and advice also for my english which is very bad. :)

At least I also want to call for all the people in and near austria which are interested in art: for a sketchgroup, joint venture or something similar, send me a message !!!!

Hi L0bo, and welcome to CA mate,

Good to hear you have a passion for art and the will to improve,
First post looks good dude, seen a lot worst.
I'm going to give some advice that everyone gets when they first join here, which is to try and study anatomy and draw from life.
You've done some good Facial studies already which is great, and if you ever what any good books to study from take a look here- http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=131117

Just keep on drawing man, and I'll come back with some more crits then.

my main crit is with the title of this thread. should it not be If I grow up coz why would anyone willingly grow up. acting childish is fun and growing up is overrated. Joking aside this portfolio rocks. awesome studies and practices. keep it up mate

did this yesterday but head no time to put it in.
tried some things with face muscles. but not very enlightening as you can see :upset:
all without ref
also realized that i bought the most incompetent scanner in the world. :(

surprisingly i had to work a lot this week. so I was not as productive as I hoped i could be. read the loomis book about heads. liked it a lot.
so some heads.... i think i improved a lot, but of course a long way to go.
did some more but after i carfully prepared the pages for scanning made a wrong move and poured some water over them...
