Who We Are: A Fledging Writer and Marketing Professional located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Seeking: Illustrators (illustrators, background artists, colorist, letterers, and inkers) with a flair for creating comic book characters interested in contributing to a new independent comic book title currently in development.

About the project: The characters and story are in development (and under continuous revision) however the physical look of the characters has not been determined. The design of the characters will be primarily at the discretion of the artist(s) with some input from the writer and co-developer (Marketing Professional). The protagonists of the story are vigilante rebels with no "special" powers beyond superior fighting skills (See synopsis below).

Compensation: There is NO set compensation for anyone involved with the project. The success of the title will result in PROFIT SHARING. The main illustrator(s) who create the physical look of the characters will share in the copyright ownership of the project and the proceeds from the sales of the title (which will be independent).

This project is for budding artists with an entrepreneurial spirit. It provides the opportunity to showcase your artistic ability and become a member of a project from inception. The best way to explain the working relationship we seek is that we seek a person to join our partnership. The writer will oversee the story, the artists will develop its look, and the marketer will promote the entire project with each having equally valued input. Although the concept is in place, it will be your project as much as it is ours. As it stands now, 8 issues are in development, and the target date for release of the first issue is Spring 2010.

Synopsis:
Our story is a dark tale that takes place in a city where a band of rebels are at war with the corrupt authorities and the criminal organizations that have overtaken the city. The local authorities have lost the confidence of the citizens and there is a "silent" civil war within the police department. The crime organizations and the police are vying to be the dominant power in the city while the rebels fight to stifle their advances. However the rebels, citizens, officers, and criminals have an enemy in common, the government deployed soldiers ordered to enforce martial law.

The rebels, each a weapons expert with extraordinary fighting skills, have a personal story of decline and a common bond unbeknownst to all of them. Time and chance will bring them together and at the center they will find Chris, a reclusive former special ops soldier with combat skills superior to their own. A makeshift leader, Chris fights to guide the rebels, advance the resistance, and secure the door to a closet with more skeletons than he can any longer bear.

As the fabric of society unravels, the threads of war are woven. The flickers of life that remain are hopeful that light and life will one day return to the city. Stakes are high with Control, Peace, and Order being the spoils that hang in the balance.
