I think it's more original and has a better colour combination than my Cybot Attack.
Good Luck to everyone.

here are my votes:

1: Oritey
2: artina
3: Ostrander

The Antarctican
March 9th, 2009, 07:50 AM
1) Cookiedough - I really like this piece. I enjoyed the development of your character and I think your line work is lovely. I find the creature so perculiar that it just stands out. Strong finish too.
2) Gnahz - Very fond of your stuff as a rule. Your interpretation of stylized is spot on. It's also amusing, and I like the way that with just a few well placed lines you convey brilliantly the cyclops' personality. Excellent.
3) Urih_Pta2 - Reminiscent of the Ray Harryhausen cyclops, but with your own particular spin on the character. I think it's superb. The final render, as with all your work, is really exceptional.

Well done everyone.

rosatron : Love the style, concept and colours and the overall look of the whole piece.
Oritey: Nice idea! Really like the evil door and the damaged effects surrounding it. Great piece!
gnahz: Bright, simple and effective with a fun concept! :) I like the background texture too.

1st Oritey, i love this concept its absolutely original congratulations from my part.
2nd the antarctican, its a wonderful work, i like the color combination and some details
3rd urih_pta2, i like the atmosphere, i think some details could be added for example the nails could be more detailed, and one question, the kidnapped girl is peesing?

This was soooo tough! Here's my vote for this month, but well done to all!

1 - Gnahz
2 - The Antartican
3 - Ostrander

Many thanks, see you in the Centaur challenge :)

Macaruba

1. The Antartican - Freakshow Clops - The detail in the cart is awesome, the shading is lovely.
2. Urih pta2 - Rooftop Cyclops - Great character, well lit. Could have had more detail and texture on the hands, but the dribble of wee is 'class'.
3. Ostrander - Wereclops - Lovely pen work, my type of character. Great situation and anatomy. Textures are nice but colours are too muted.

runners up in order
Marcuswelbey - Belly Tatt - Great looking characters, No story to speak of though.
Oritey - Clopsdoor - Love the concept here, great painting and mood. Although I did like it with the Kids in (the idea of the boys painting graffiti to play a trick on the girl was nice)
Liranz - Missing Eye Girl - Great texturing and story telling. Sooo disturbing! Not quite a Cyclops though.
Artina - Cyclops Mickey - Really nice twist on Mickey, when comparing to the original there is enough of a difference to not be an exact trace, which is very excellent. Colours and shading are great also.
Gnahz - Many Eyed Frog - Nice characters and idea of bewilderment. Perhaps Cyclops could have had a more sad expression and the frog a more satisfied one to contrast the characters more!
Cookiedough - Octoclops - Lovely character, I like the pen lines that have been recoloured, nice texturing and shading too, although the whole image seems a little too faded and light.
Rosatron - Monocular Tightrope - I really liked this one, very simple, nice expression, perhaps could have had a bit more contrast in the shadows.
MurdokX - Cybot Attack 2 - Great feeling of action and movement and a reason for me not to choose my Cybot Attack. I always want you to sharpen up your painting and not be so blurry, but then you may loose something!
Mokad - Jack - Nice character and colour scheme, good texturing, wobbly aces and J looks a touch sloppy some parts of the outline are too thick.
Zimfin - Ink Telescope - I like the boldness of the colours, the anatomy looks a bit wrong. But I do like the ink idea though.
Blackcherry - Baby Beam - nice clean lines and shapes, I don't really understand the floating spheres and the droopy stick thing in his hand? I would like to see it in full colour.
Dmarshallarts - Rocky - Nice colouring, I love his eye and the Tiger-T detail - Hands look awkward though and I think the crowd photo is bad - just draw it all!
Ircha - Waders Clops - Nice character and colouring, looks a little too sketchy! the background relys too much on photographic texture.
Alexnegrea Bullring Clops - I like the hair texture. Background is a bit too scratchy!
Gusrojas80 - Seymoure Lens - Good concept, but try to loosen up the figure pose and pay more attention to the background.
Enosh B - Clubclops - Good expression but I think he needs a story, his pose looks a little awkward too.

Cheers

And the Winners Are......

1st: Oritey
2nd: Gnahz
3rd: Urih pta2

Well done all! :)

2nd and 3rd plce this month actually tied: both Gnahz and Urih pta2 came in second; however, as we must have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd, we went through the votes again and found that Gnahz had more 1st place votes cast than Urih pta2, which is how we decided on 2nd and 3rd place this month. Hope that makes sense!
