...Born from nothing less than dark energy, Alaya was found by Darth Sidious itself, inside Marka Ragnos tomb, on korriban.

After reading in the ancient writtings, that a chosen one will bring peace or destruction to the galaxy, Darth Sidious belived that alaya was the one.

Keeping this in secret, darth sidious took the baby and started training her in the ways of the force, hoping that one day she will be his right hand and succesor.

Years have passed, and Darth Sidious found information about the extincted Sith race, knowing that without an army would be dangerous, he sent Alaya to the outer rim, hoping that one day she will return with the remnants of the sith empire and conquer the galaxy...:D

Dark Lord Satira-
When Darth Plagueis was discovering a way to save the ones he loved from death, he practiced on others, that is how Satira came to be. Darth Plagueis brought her back by reanimated all her cells with dark energy. When she arose, she had no mind of her own. Nearly killing Darth Plagueis as she awoke with force powers still unknown, she was now a puppet of the dark forces, doing no one’s bidding but the will of the Dark Side.

Darth Scolopendra

Rumored to be thousands of years old, Scolopendra is a dangerous relic of the Old Republic.
Thought to be just a silly cautionary tale, she has resurfaced to crush the rebellious knaves that oppose the rise of the Galactic Empire.

She is characterized by her prosthetic arms that double up at the elbow, if the situation required extra limbs.
Scolopendra is a fighter without equal and a mistress of the highest order of the Sith ways.

Naruha Warano (Darth Nebulous)

Specie : Mirialan
Occupation : Diplomate , Negociator
-------------------------------------------------------------
"Althought she is well-skilled in melee combat , her main skill is mind control that she master close to the perfection even on strong minds , using the light-saber in some rare case!

During the Old Republic she was a respected diplomat and negociator , well-now by the highest personnalities of Coruscant (it occurs she helped a lot of them with some undertable services , like during contract negociations and important deal ) , always hiding her dark indentity !
When the Empire was instaured, Palpatine made her killed during the Jedi Purge, scared that she would use her power and influences to take his seat .

Although she was a Sith , she just avoided to put herself into melee , her favorite way to kill was to return her target's bodyguard against him .

It says that her breatsplates are an old artefact made with cortosis, an extremely expensive material who has the property to cut the laser flux"

Forgive me for the english , i hope i didn't make too much mistake ^^

Endra Fett was an abandoned child by the notorious bounty hunter Boba Fett, left to her her own devices, she grew up within the company of slaves, mercenaries and cutthroats. Fueled by confusion, anger and despair and a deep rooted hatred for all life, She had become a highly skilled assassin and earned quite a reputation to match her father's. Impressed by her penchant for violence, Darth Sidious has taken steps to train her on the dark arts of the Sith. Under his tutelage, Darth Endra uses her mastery of the dark side well hidden beneath the cold visage of a cunning and beautiful woman; bent on restoring the lost glory of the Mandalorians and absolute control over the galaxy.

Darth Liniia was an unsurpassed Master of Beast Control, and actually developed this Force capability into an offensive weapon for the first time. After years of study of the symbiotic relationship of the midichlorians and the hunter animals of Genraar, gaining great knowledge of the ways in which the Force could amplify the predatory nature of all living things, Darth Liniia rose to her ascendancy by having her mentor and his entire household torn to shreds by a pack of Rhu-cats under her direct control. Liniia eventually embodied her knowledge in the extremely deadly lightsaber style known as jian'nis'rok (fang and claw). Always reaching for new ways to expand her own predatory nature, she became one of the first humanoids to successfully receive the transplanted eyes of an animal, giving her a range of vision far in excess of her species' norm.

Liniia was an orphan raised in the twi'lek slums by a dance troupe, and was an accomplished dancer by age six, when she began to manifest Force skills. Her "family" presented her to the local Jedi Academy campus as a candidate for padawan, but the interviewing Jedi Master refused her enrollment, stating that her attachment to possessions and self-comfort would always inhibit her full knowledge of the Force. She proved him wrong. Dead wrong, in fact, as his assassination was her first assignment under Sith tutelage.

The Sith being the antithesis of the very ascetic Jedi, Liniia is a supreme sybarite, selfish and self-indulgent, basking in sensual pleasures as readily as the pleasure of the kill. She is portrayed as a Sith Lord at her prime, and is now much more a puppet master (as was Palpatine/Sidious) than a soldier for the dark side (Maul, Dooku and Vader). She also eschews (gesundheit!) armor, finding it places limits on her lightsaber techniques (ref: KOTR) and her consummate skills make it redundant anyway.

Movie universe tie-ins:
Costume -- echoes that of Oola the twi'lek dancer at Jabba's palace in Return of the Jedi.
Background -- architecture based on that of both Bespin and Tatooine (Jabba's palace and Mos Eisley)
Rhu-cat -- a distant cousin (in an evolutionary sense) of the wookie, but even worse-tempered and vicious. Liniia is the only being known to have domesticated a Rhu-cat. Its predatory emotions pleased her, and she occasionally fed her lovers to it after mating. Meow!

Name: Darth Lord Narona
Age: 26
Eyes: Yellow
Nickname: Tookila (Rain of sabers)
Powers
Description: Born a psychopath. Naturally gifted with the force. At the age of 6 Narona's temper was out of control. Her parents fled while she was asleep, fearing what she would, in time, do to them. As her force powers grew, so did her anger. Wandering her planet alone, she did what she pleased and killed whoever or whatever came in her way, always having a cold smile on her face. After killing a sith and its Lord, she took much interest in the Lightsaber, though never having the proper training, she sought to build an entire army's supply and trained herself to use every last one simultaneously, thus earning the nickname Tookila.

Now she travels the universe taking up an apprentice as she pleases, though none live long enough to be deemed an apprentice.

Darth Trana

Once a Jedi herself, she became sickened by the Jedi and their puppet Gungan representative, Jar Jar Binks. The fool could hardly stand straight, how could he then care for the needs of her people. It weighed heavily upon her for many years until she encountered a holocron with the Sith Code. While she had seen the code before, it only now resonated with her. The passion she had been feeling for her people was not something to hide away, but to embrace. It was then she renounced Jedi and became Sith.

Chow #149: Female Sith Lord
Name: Lady L'aia
Species: Human

L'aia was born on Coruscant, where she currently resides. Having been shown to have Force abilities at a young age, she was sent by her parents to the Jedi Academy to train. However, after finding the Jedi's endless rules far too restricting, she eventually found training in the darker uses of the Force from an unknown Sith master. She enjoyed the sheer power and freedom offered by the Dark Side, but felt there were more efficient uses of power than conquering the galaxy and cackling to oneself in the darkness of a spaceship. Since killing her master was the only way out of that arrangement, she did so, and moved on to work as a private individual, offering services of assassin, mercenary, or political 'negotiator,' as needed.

Concept: I wanted someone who was powerful, who was Sith, but didn't immediately read as pure evil. To me, someone with that much power would be confident enough that they didn't need to bother showing it off all the time, so I went for amused and effortless arrogance instead.

But then, I also have a weakness for villains who are not always pure evil.

First challenge I've finished up!!!

Lady Eheris

Eheris was trained at an early age as a Jedi. Presumed dead, she was abandoned as a youngling on a droid graveplanet, yet she continued developing her skill with the force. Forlorn and forsaken, her grip of the force became chaotic, and hate consumed her. Eheris began studying the droid systems, combining them with her weapons and her body, including her force glider, which shapes the power of her saber blades into wings. Using technology to focus her undisciplined power, she escaped her forgotten prison and struck out in to the galaxy to hunt down the ones who left her. The madness from isolation, and her feral hold on the force is said to physically sicken Jedi in her presence due to the disturbance in the force.

Darth Krodos

She's not only a Sith lord. She's also a queen of her planet. She was trained by her father (Who was also a powerful Sith lord himself) and after death of her father, she became the queen. She chose to side except herself. She was even in war with other dark lords, but when the old republic started to bring order to the galaxy, she united with other dark lords to consume her main enemies.

I just got the time to start it yesterday. Well this was the best thing I could do in 4 hours.

Darth Decedere

It was a harsh life for the woman now known as Darth Decedere, with the early loss of her family - she found dealing with pain to be a difficult process. Found striking out at those around her, to the point of nearly being executed at a young age, the young girl was taken in by a powerful lord who later proved to be of Sith influence. She was subsequently trained in the dark arts and soon found herself as a feared and strong agent of the Sith regime. She covets not power, strength, or wealth - just death for those who would stand in her way, and will stop at no means to make sure that happens.

Darth Airras [pronounced 'Aeres']

[born Sarria Zarlenga]

When Sarria was young, she longed to become a powerful Jedi Knight like her idol Luminara Unduli. She would train in secret for days on end, away from her parents' prying eyes [they wanted their daughter to remain in the seclusion of the convents, shamed by her peculiar eyes and deep skin color- much darker than a normal Mirialan female's should be]. Her desperation for recognition drove her to near madness, and a deep, foreboding evil began to grow in her. When it became time for Luminara to select her Padawan learner, it was that deep darkness in Sarria's heart that made Luminara pass over her and select the weaker, but more centered Barriss Offee. In pure disbelief, rage and sadness, Sarria fled her home planet, vowing her revenge on those who scorned her for what she thought was her unnatural looks, but what was really her black heart.

She soon became a skilled bounty hunter, aiding the various enemies of the Jedi by hunting down and killing various Jedi and their Padawans, keeping their various lightsabers as her own trophies. She was most proud of her weapon of choice- her fiber-cord linked lightsabers- and her natural agility, but it took only her chance watching of General Grievous' speed in a fight that enamored her with cybernetics, so she decided to swap out her own legs for a pair of cybernetically-enhanced legs to move even faster in battle- thus making her even deadlier.

When Sarria stumbled across an unknown Sith Lord at the ends of the galaxy, she quickly recognized the power flowing from him as similar to her own. She pretended to work for him as a Sith Assassin, then his personal Warrior, apprentice, and lover- learning all she needed to know about the Sith, their plans for domination and how to use the Dark Side of the Force for her own advantage. When she finally deemed the Lord useless to her needs, she killed him and took command of his growing army with little protest, thus fulfilling Darth Bane's Rule of Two. Now Darth Airras, her main goal is to now exact her vengeance against that cowardly Jedi Luminara Unduli and her patheitc Padawan and have them see the error of their fears.

Darth Agro

Darth Agro, a Zabrak from the planet Iridonia, was a former apprentice of Darth Sidious.

As a youngling she had witnessed her parents death at the hands of slavers. She was taken from her home world to the darkest reaches of the Deep Core, to the planet Byss. The throne world of Emperor Palpatine.

There she lived out her existance, laboring in the “recolonization efforts” for many years. When she was around 10 years old, she was attacked for her ration of food. This happened quite often in the slave trade, but this day would be different, to everyones surprise. The lightning bolt that had blown the head off of her attacker, had come from her own hands! Bewildered and terrified she sat there, looking at her hands, while the slavers rushed in to take her away. After six minutes, twenty-seven slavers and fifty-three fellow prisoners lay scorched on the holding floor before a flash of brilliant red light rendered her unconscious.

She awoke to find herself in a cage. A cage that made her feel weak and “fuzzy” in the head. When she went to touch her scalp, she was horrified to find she had no right arm to touch with! Wounded and disoriented, she flattened against the floor of her final prison and softly cried, waiting to die the rest of the way.

“Why do you weep so?”, came a voice in the darkness beyond the bars, startling her.

“Isn’t it obvious!?”, she said angrily through her tears.

“Are you refering to your missing limb? You know that something like that can be replaced. Or is there something more to your grief?”, the voice said.

“I…I had it…”, she wispered.

“Had what?”, the darkness purred.

“…Power.”

“Is that important to you?”

“I had the power to destroy! To kill every being that hurt me! TO DO WHAT I WANT!!"

The darkness laughed.

“DO NOT LAUGH AT ME!”, she spat, standing in the wretched cage,”If I could get out of here I shall make you pay! Make everyone pay dearly for what a few have done to me!”

Suddenly a looming figure extracted itself from the shadows. It came at the cage at great speed and howled at her with a smile on it’s face,”Is that a promise! If I give you the means, are you determined to met out pain and suffering!? Your justice?”

Without flinching away from the agonizing pain , she grabbed the bars to put herself face to face with him. She quietly said,”Every world will burn under my gaze.”

The approving smile from this hooded man gave her a promise of things to come.

Terrible and wonderous things.

A blind sith lord with the ability to sense the vibrations in the force even before they happen. A fearsome enemy to anyone touched by the force but just a blind opponent to most mercenaries. Because of the potential to withstand even the greatest jedi masters set in contrast to the lack of proficiency when fighting regular beings (due to her blindness) she has a lot of frustration to repress and express later in sithlike manner.
Moreover because of her acute perception to the vibrations in the force she was forced to master meditation techniques to develop split personalities, else she would go mad from the strain of sensing the force 24/7 (more mad than a regular sith lord that is). One part of her enjoys cooking and blind dates, while the other regrets that light sabers cauterize wounds replacing the scent of fresh blood with that of fried meat.

Darth Malice__Sith Empress

Little is known about Darth Malice's origins, she is rumored to have been trained in secret by Darth Sidious himself, as an Assassin, her target of choice is of course Jedi Knights.
Darth Malice plays a crucial role in the hunting down and killing of the Jedi during the clone wars, driven by her lust for violence she grows stronger with every kill.

While she has a an astonishing grasp of the force, her main attribute is her swordplay, effortless and nimble she is a formidable opponent that strikes fast and without warning.

Darth Ravhna

Unknown to many the Sith fought campaigns in backwater worlds of the outer rim to conquer alien races to fill the ranks of their slave armies and pillage unknown technologies. One of their most reckless and brutal commanders-in-chief was Darth Ravhna. Since her childhood the force was strong in her. Grown up in the slums of Kuon Porr, a planet overgrown by a crawling sprawl of megacities, she certainly was lost to the dark site from the beginning.
It was suspected that she later killed her mentor and master Darth Taron. But no trace of him or his body was found.

Darth Squalor
Born to a nightclub stripper on Coruscant, Darth Squalor got a taste for the scum of the universe at an early age. At the age of thirteen she was adopted by a Jedi Master and was trained in the ways of the Force. She trained for 10 years but knew that her master wasn't telling her everything about the force. She eventually grew impatient with her training and took to the dark side by killing her master. Darth Squalor then began cleaning the streets the hard way, making the world a slightly better place through unethical means.

This character was a slave dancer when she discovered her connection to the force. Since being a Jedi is all about boredom and self-control, and dancing is all about passion and destruction, she had no choice but to become a Sith - the evil was a nice bonus too. Even as a Sith, she still dances when she fights, or maybe simply fights as she dances - either way she remains scantily clothed, because the Star Wars franchise demands it from this particular race (srsly, name one twi lek that isn't)

Former Jedi master, always seeking more knowledge and powers, it was only matter of time when she would start studying the dark side of the force. Banished from the Jedi order, there was only one ally that could help her and thus she got a new master, a Sith. Darth Juuno the Cloner

Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas visited the cloners in the Kamino system to make the order for the clone troopers for the upcoming war he had forseen in his vision. After submitting the order, he found an unusual Kaminoan girl named Joan Del-Mar. She had an unusual high concentration of midichlorians in her blood. With her parents approval she traveled with him to the Jedi temple to begin her training to become a Jedi. Sifo-Dyas friend count Dooku saw her potential and helped in the training. Joan had an unusual ability, with the force she could use cloth as deadly weapons to ensnare and strangel those she dueled with the help of her robe which she split up in stripes. When not in battle, the stripes floated around like snakes in the air, creating a living robe. In order to not damage the robe in battle, she incorporated it with nano-thin super strong metal plates. Even though she were so tall, she were very fast and moved with the grace of a swallow in battle, wielding her lightsaber which had almost twice the lenght of an ordinary lightsaber with seldom seen skill.

Many years later Count Dooku betrayed his friend Sifo-Dyas and killed him in order to show his allegiance with Darth Sidious, he ensnared Joan with his lies about that the Jedi's had killed her master for treason. She became his disciple and with her anger towards the Jedi she turned to the dark side. She was now Darth Juuno.

The years passed and she studied the cloning techniques of her people and perfected it. While Dooku fought the Jedi's on the battlefield, Darth Juuno worked from the inside. She cloned senates men and disposed of the originals in order to get her and her masters intrests seen to in the senate.

As Count Dooku were killed by Anakin Skywalker she was left without a master, and continued on her own, cloning and "reinstating" senates men and monarks and presidents of planets in order to get as much power as possible. She now controls a small empire, holding the strings of her puppets.

Darth Corrigan was once a force-witch of Dathomir, until she was exiled for enjoying killing too much. She wandered alone killing anything she came across and making it's bones into her armour, including her pet rancor when he died. Eventually she discovered the sith but after training for only a year she killed her master, preferring to make her way alone.

Yet another first timer here :)

Arala Nienb (Darth Arala)

Species: Sullustan

Arala was an ordinary worker in the Empire-controlled SoroSuub Corporation, which employs over half of Sullust's inhabitants. She had a strange gift - her fingers instinctively knew how to work with even the most sophisticated machinery. Soon, she became one of the best mechanics SoroSuub had, and the Imperial supervisors noticed that. Not long after, Darth Vader came to Sullust and confirmed that Arala is in fact attuned to the flow of the Force. He took her as his apprentice and tasked with a mission to infiltrate the Rebel Alliance, posing as a freelance smuggler on the run from the Empire. She is then expected to assassinate the notorious criminal Luke Skywalker (murderer of thousands of people aboard the Death Star), escape the Rebel base and return to Vader for further training.

Darth Growl, Liphi

It had been 7 years since Liphi as a 15 year old, had massacred her whole family. 7 years since she had left and ended up at the dangerous planet of Dathomir. There she had been found by a tribe of nightsisters, which took her in as one of their own. She was then teached in the dark side of the force, and in the art of controlling realy powerfull beasts such as the rancor. After 4 years with the Nightsisters a powerful dark lord of the sith arrived the planet, after feeling an incredibly strong presence of dark side power there. His arrival was not appreciated by the nightsisters, and after the battle only Liphi and her rancor pets and the dark lord were alive. While being an echani, ofcourse her melee fighting skills were vastly superior. In addition she had learned to control all nearby wildlife. Yet the dark lord managed to convince her to be taken in as his apprentice, and teach her even more of the dark side of the force. For two years she travelled with him around the galaxy as a student, untill one day when she battled him for the darth title. Needless to say, the dark lord turned into rancor food. She then took the name of Darth Growl, Growl being a nickname she had been given by the nightsisters, due to her voice when communicating with the beasts of dathomir.

Darth Harrak

Darth Harrak was a jedi apprentice before being corrupted by Darth Sidious, during the Empire ascension. She was knew to be passionate into the art of war, maybe too much for the liking of her teachers. She learned to fight with 2 Shotos, lightsabers with shorter blade, using the Jar'Kai dual fighting techniques. She suffered intense injuries to the head during a fight with her formal jedi master, and partially lost the use of her eyes. She was healed by Darth Sidious' dark powers.

Born of intrigue and war. As a daughter of privilege, she became ruthless. As the consort of an Imperial governor, she grew ambitious. Her efficient efforts at quelling the rebellion on her homeworld caught the eye of Lord Vader and with his blessing she struck down her bumbling husband and took the reigns of power there. However, her ambition was too great, and foolishly she challenged Lord Vader, seeking to take his place at the Emperor's side. Risc's cybernetic limbs are a constant reminder of the difficult lesson Vader was forced to impart.

Darth Drakul Bugaree : The sole daughter of outcast Anzati smugglers, Drakul witnessed her parents' death at the tender age of 4. With a natural affinity with the force, hatred and greed fueled her rise in the seedy underbelly of Coruscant. Her age, size, and raw ability made her an ideal, yet unlikely assassin. It was a paid attempt to take the life of Count Dooku that brought the 8 year old Drakul to his attention. Lady An'Shyaari:
Rogue Twi'Lek Sith

Backstory:
When she was a very young child, a freak electrical storm rocked the ship which was carrying her family to a new settlement. At the time, she was hiding in the cargo bay playing with a crystal she found in a cave on her home world. Her family did not survive, but she did.

A while later, a strong man boarded the ship and rescued young An'Shyaari. He found her holding a lightsaber crystal, and felt the force flowing between her and the stone. This man--whom An'Shyaari called "Father"--raised her brutally, and taught her to be an unquestioning, loyal, and ruthless secret assassin--for he had schemes of which his master could not know.

After many years of faithful service, An'Shyaari discovered through meditation that her "Father" had attacked her ship when she was a child. He intended to destroy her birth parents--who were natural force sensitives. She attempted to slay him, but was defeated. As punishment for her deeds, he wrapped An'Shyaari in force-binding chains, hoping to deny her use of the force for the rest of her life. Unfortunately for him, through a fluke in her connection with the force, the chains merely served to enhance her already incredible Lightning abilities. The man awoke later that evening to his last moments... with an electrified chain around his neck.

Disgusted by the ways of the Sith, and taught to despise the Jedi, Lady An'Shyaari wanders the galaxy alone, seeking fortune, power, and a good time--although... notably, An'Shyaari's idea of a good time includes massacre and pillage.

Character Info/Summary: Due to electrical storm exposure while holding a lightsaber crystal as a child, An'Shyaari possesses an innate immunity to all forms of electrical attack, is effortlessly masterful with Force Lightning, and during rages, seemed to seethe electricity. The force-binding chains her master had placed upon her, had an unexpected effect, and served to enhance her force powers, she now wears them with pride.

N'elg R'ednartso in panic fled the planet Skaggis during the duel before Sidious' victory over Plagueis was known to her. Centuries before the gruesome visage of Darth Maul and the brutal efficacy of Vader, there was Darth Lamia, the scourge of the Jedi Order and would-be Empress of a thousand systems.

Hailing from a primitive world where force-sensitives were seen as witches and sorcerers, Lamia never receiving 'proper' training in the ways of the Sith; as a result, she found melee combat to be distasteful and carried no lightsaber. However, when it came to mastery of Force powers, Lamia had no peer. It is said she could control flocks of birds, hex someone from across the galaxy, and ravage entire planets with plagues and famine. But perhaps Lamia's most infamous ability was a ritual that allowed her to enter people's minds as they slept and slay them with hellish nightmares.

Under Sidious' tutelage, and supported by her coven of powerful witches, Lamia seemed destined for greatness, but it was that same destiny that eventually led her master to fear her potential. Defenseless during her 'nightmare assassinations', Sidious slew her cabal and beheaded her before she was able to return to her body, consigning her spirit to wander the stars aimlessly for all eternity.

Darth Rath was originally a youngling who survived the massacre at the Jedi temple when order 66 went into effect. Wounded and amnesiac she wandered into the slums of Coruscant where she spent the next few years scratching out a meager existence.

When Vader stumbled over her later, she was a half-starved teenage girl, vicious and full of hatred and rage. He took her on as an apprentice until Sidious found out. When the master Sith discovered her he informed her of her past and Vaders part in it, prompting her to attempt an assassination which resulted in her death.

good round everyone!
heres my back story :pirate:

"the Sith Lord Naga Sadow fled to Yavin 4 on his flagship along with an army of Massassi warriors following the defeat of his Sith forces during the Great Hyperspace War by the Galactic Republic. He then conducted Sith alchemic experiments on his Massassi warriors, causing them to mutate from red-skinned humanoids into fearsome, savage, hunchbacked predators. Despite these abuses, his Massassi slaves treated him like a god, building huge temples, filled with treasure, to honor their Sith Lord.

Sadow also encased himself in a Sith sarcophagus where he remained in a coma-like trance for centuries, waiting for someone to call upon his power and continue the history of the Sith. He remained in suspended animation until 4,400 BBY, when a fallen Jedi named Freedon Nadd arrived on Yavin 4"
-wookieepedia

before Freedon Nadd heard of the great Sith lords entombment, Darth Selim Schahara, known to many as the notorious Dark Jedi who turned on her companions for a quick buck, made her way to the fourth moon of Yavin in hopes of possessing the dark lords power. She made her way through the jungles during the rainy season for 6 lunar months until she gave up her search and left the moon.

Survivor of Order 66. Azula Nashida, a Wroonian, fled the Jedi Temple with several other younglings. They were able to escape Coruscant via a merchant ship, but when word got out of the Jedi's betrayal, the younglings found that there was no safe haven.

They were hunted across the span of dozens of planets. With no master to guide them, fear became an integral part of their lives and they formed a close bond to each other. Finally, one by one, they were hunted down and killed. Each death brought more pain, fear, and anger to each of the younglings as they struck out at their attackers.

One day, after brutally murdering an entire village when her last friend was killed, Vader found her. After attempting to duel him, she lost. He saw great potential in her anger and fear and seized the opportunity. She became his agent, doing his bidding in the far reaches of the empire.

Once a master level jedi, Darth Maliss was trapped too close to the chaos of a raging sith energy inferno, this creature is now neither completely woman nor dark energy, inhabiting a kind of purgatory that lies somewhere in between.

She is immensely powerful, immensely evil and serves only the essence of dark energy.

She inhabits crystalline caves as a means to cast her power over long distances and travels the universe performing assassinations on key empire targets.

It is thought if she could be cornered by key jedi masters, the evil could be driven from her and return her to the side of light.

Her body markings enflame when she uses the force. The jedi are pious and pure, this creature is neither. The orbs above her head are slave AIs that emit thin lightsaber arcs while spinning. They can guard a camp, be left as bombs, fly reconnaissance or assist in a fight.

Inquisitor Fenlau

Someone to seek out thought-crime for good ol' Palps' hehe

I only got a wiff of this weekly completition thing last Friday. I hadn't been on Concept.org since round 2 of Last Mans Standing 3, which must be anywhere from 6 months to a year now ? But when I saw some Star Wars action I figured aw hell, I have to try this out ! I was probably one of the biggest Star Wars geeks who ever lived until they botched everything up with Episode I and all that followed and led up to it...

I'm not fotunate enough to be that quick of an artist... I look at things, and get hooked up on useless ponderings etc. But, considering the time-frame I'm rather happy I managed to haul-ass for once.

It's kinda scary what the competition on here can put together in only a matter of days...

Ok, so a description then.
For a little background on the pic :

1) Darth Vader is the ultimate powerfull bad-dude who kills people just by thinkin' about it, thousands of kilometers away right ?

2) Darth Maul is. Yes yes, I know, the NEW Episodes AREN'T Star Wars you say. They're some grim-fandangled modern bastard off-shoot spawned from Lucas's twisted and souless bowles to further line his pockets in green... I agree, fully... Never the less, you have to give it to Ray Parks : this guy knows what he's doin'. And the Maulinator may just be a horny clown (no, not Captain Howdy), and he may not measure up to Vader, but he definatly IS the swordsman, right ?

3) Let's not go over all of these other Darth Losers. Why not just include Darth Bobo while we're at it ?

So what's left ? The Emrperor's the chimp-eyed lightning-bolt dude... I figure : let's make a character that's honed some other type of skill. It might be a bit cliché but I figured this Sith-chicks' particular talent should be mind-tricks. Ok ok, "women and their mind-games", who hasn't heard that one before right ? ;) Still, I went with it, wanted her "thing" to be screwin' with your head, illusions like. Think "Obiwan Kenobi and the Sand Troopers" except with the intent to instill fear or even leave your minds as stew (to quote Daylgo).

Alright, then what. Well, first of all, made her human simply because there WERE no aliens in the Empire : that was their bit (and this is supposed to be movie-era right ?). The aliens' role in imperial hierarchy was peripheral or that of slave-labour, think of the Wookies for instance : slaves, the lot of 'em. Of course the new "movies" messed up that whole vibe with aliens gallore around Palpatine (is it me or does anyone else smell CGI madness ?).

Then I figured, you know how the Emperor's all screwed up physically because the darkside is so strong in him and all that, that his physical being is corrupted by it, sorta rotting from the inside ? Well I wanted to make this Sith-chick an albino. Not necessarily that she was born that way, but that all the colour was drained out of her, that she's left pale, drained of hue, from the darkside.

I tried a version of her with dark clothes, which made for better visuals I'ld say, made her stand out more, but in the end I figured I'ld stick to dressin' her all in white. Drive home this whole "drained" thing. Plus it's not what you'ld expect from your typical meanie right ? So maybe it's just one more way to play with your head.

Then, Rushwolf's comment : "Everyone knows that boobs are massive force nodes, thusly the bigger the boobs the stronger she becomes in the force ", was just inspiring... hahaha So I thought I'ld have some Whiteish Force "aura" flowin' outa her chest ;)

I was debating weather or not to give her a lightsaber, because she wouldn't really need to use it much, but come on : lightsabers are cool as SHIT so... Ended up placing one in a non-threatenning position though, like it's more for bark than bite.

Fenlau :
Fen from FENrir. And then rir -> "rire" meaning "to laugh" in French (three first letters of LAUgh then). So it's that ridiculous, fen + lau... Don't ask me why, I didn't bother askin' myself really...

What else would you need to know ?... Uh, used reference on the blaster pistol, simply offa google. Used ref for the hair as well, from a pic of the lovely Angela Lindvall. All drawn from start to finish in Photoshop, I didn't count the hours but other than a concert this was the better part of my weekend.

Actually, she sorta looks like Lady Death now that I'm done with it... Fuck...

Any crits would be appreciated.

PS = Trevor, for someone who isn't "particularly a huge Starwars fan" you pretty much smashed the nail on the head :
1) but i do no return of the jedi should never have been a battle between care bears and the empire.
2) i still dont believe the prequels exist-show me proof i dare you

Darth Rynis

Some girls want to be Princess Leia when they grow up. Rynis always wanted to be a Sith Lord, just like her father - it's kind of a family business for her. Raised away from her kind she always felt more Sith then Falleen, but that doesn't stop her from using her race's unique ability of manipulating people's emotion with pheromones, in her missions. That, together with capability of using mind tricks and being resistant to them herself makes her more dangerous than you could possibly imagine looking at her smiling face. One day you can find yourself telling her all your secrets, without even noticing when it happened. And than she may use them against you, slit your throat with her pale lightsaber, or... just do nothing. You'll never know. Always smiling, loving her job, and being damn good at it, Rynis tend to walk her own paths but she's all Sith, and could never be anyone else.

Darth Vela - searching through the rim worlds, looking for ancient Sith holocrons.
As a Pau'an she is long lived - combat has taken a toll on her, most of her is now replaced with machine parts.
Favours a Yari style of combat, though is fluent with sabres.

Darth Altura

A Zabrak of unknown origin. She specialized in defensive combat, defeating her foes with a more brute force style, unlike her other Sith counterparts who relied on speed and finesse. She was ultimately killed in combat while defending an a Imperial spaceport from attack a group of Jedi and Clone troopers. There she was defeated by three young Jedis, killing two of them in the process.

The sister of Darth Vader that nobody knew about.

I just wanna get this thing posted before the thread is locked or voting begins or whatever it is that happens here. The thread took ten friggin minutes to load, so I'm going crazy. WIP to follow in a minute.

[ EDIT: Huh. Well, it's not letting me attach the WIP, so... That's that.

This is my first Anything-of-the-Week, and I guess I screwed up the protocol. My apologies. I hope that this gets into consideration, but if not -- at least it pushed me into a huge new understanding of how to do people, and for that I am grateful. I know there's tons screwy with the anatomy and lighting and perspective, but holy smokes... that stuff is all detail that I will now get to learn about with practice. That stuff will be the fun stuff now. I just can't say enough about how cool a transition this has been for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ]

Just in time! My heart nearly stopped :D

Having long preferred to dwell in the unexplored regions far beyond the Outer Rim, Darth D'artyne sensed a rise in the dark side as the Empire emerged. Compelled to seek out and eradicate her opposition, she made her way towards the core worlds carving a trail of havoc and mass destruction.

I worked overtime this weekend so I hardly had a chance to work on this, but with the level of effort in this round I couldn't not post it. Amazing job all around :D

I'm gonna post anyway, with fingers crossed! I went and posted my Sith in the Critique Center at 3:31, so if there was any doubt that I'd have, in truth, made it under the 30 minute grace period, there is record of my post time in there! But if not...c'est la vie! Can't blame a girl for tryin'!

"The Dark Force does not always come with a snarl and a black mask. Sometimes it is quite alluring, and slithers up on you like a theif in the eternal night. Such are the ways of Sith Lord Tan'Aris Ette. She is demure, well-spoken, and as sharp as the sting of her whip. One would be wise to keep her at far greather than arm's length...despite whatever she may promise..."

If I'm reading the POLL RESULTS correctly, it looks like several people have cast votes for multiple images.

Nice work everyone! I didn't finish mine in the end because there was a really big difference between my original sketch and the final image. i think weve always been able to cast votes for multiple images, I could be wrong though.

Figures I manage to make a pollworthy image in the round that has all of CA showing up to bump me off ;) Such a cool round, will have to ponder who ill vote for, although Vorace made an awesome image I must say.

Will try to make a crit round, since I have been lazy about that before even though ive recieved some really good comments on my own stuff, for what my commentary is worth :)

Sentinal: Looks so......... evil
Evildisco: Love the styling and use of colour
Iflow: Amazing work! it really looks like something you'd see one one of George Lucus's concept boards
Clochette: Not very dark jedi, but damn is it pretty to look at!
Vorace: My hands down fav, I just can't stop looking at it....totally brilliant

Seriously? Guys?

WTF.

Would have passed if not for the way too many entries? This is my freakin' first ever drawing with any half decent background, not to mention second ever done in colored pencils. I know I screwed it up in so many ways that I want to crawl into some dark place and hide. And you're telling me it would make it to the poll on another round? I'm in quite real shock. Thank you. And once again, thanks to everyone for this utterly amazing round with over 90 entries full of Star Wars coolness (even if that meant I didn't pass). I learned a lot this week and will certainly keep participating in Chow. It was the greatest fun I've ever had while drawing (not that I've drawn that much yet).

Wooww again, what a round !
Didn't participated this time, I hadn't got to much time and hmmmm... ok I'm too lazy ! :D
First would like to thank posh and daestwen for giving us every week a wonderfully organized CHOW. And I would like to thank all the participants (for not being lazy as me :P), it's really awesome to see so many differents concepts every time. I've learned a lot from CHOW (+ it's really great since we can see the WIPS !)

Weeelll, this time I voted for 5 and I was going to vote for more but I had to restrict my self a little :) voted for :

Adam Schumpert : Man I voted especially for the WIPS they are great !
Rusty : Mann this is so good, but I think you could have done the tatoos you did in the WIP on here face, but anyway great work ! :)
Vorace : WOw :) hehe... I think it's my favorite.
Sentinel : Love it she looks very sith !
Masque : Man actually I voted because I love everything in it, except I'm not really convinced by the colors... but anyway great work !

The ones I was going to, but didn't voted for :
Flow : Very nice, but hmmm... but I didn't voted because as I said I restricted my self to 5 :S
FerrousJack : Love the dynamic, but I don't like to much here face, she doesn't give me the feeling she's a sith.

There are so many other entries that are great, but some of them don't give me the feeling of a sith lord. But anyway good job everyone.

PS : for the ones who worked really hard and don't have to much votes, don't be desapointed, CHOW isn't about having votes or even winning trust me ! ;)

I had one vote, because I dont believe in multiple voting. I ended up going for Rusty. Your sketches were the shit just wish you would have finished it more without cutting some of the delicious details that the sketch had.

Clochette: Really like it for the obvious reasons. <3

Vorace: Love it, very well executed, just wish you pushed the design of it all to the next level.

Rob!T: Ambitious piece, I like the composition and if you had some more time probably would have been a killer piece.

agenda-b: Great potential in the piece, the composition is challenging and I think you did a good job at compensating that fact. Seems you run out of time though.

sorry if I don't keep commenting on everyone else, but I have a lot of work to do.

Cheers, great round.

Man, there were so many kick-ass choices! I really had to limit my voting:
~Burmak-great narrative
~Rusty-hands down, my fave. The lighting and physiology are to-die-for.
~Dwinbotp-I really dig her cocky expression...you gotta have 'balls' to be a chick Sith, afterall... ;)
~Soupandbutter-clever little critter!
~cmalidore-great overall design
~evildisco-last, but not least! Just incredibly cooool.

(I apologize if I got anyone's handle wrong; my monitor isn't the best. And neither are my eyes. Excuses, excuses...)

PS...thanks for everything, Daestwin! Next time I'll read the comp more thoroughly and PLAN AHEAD!

Sooo many good entries and many goods ones didn't make it to poll. I voted for:

Rusty, Decaying Lolita (I really enjoyed the active marks throughout the piece), Masque (crazy awesome drapery), and Sentinel (I always enjoy your work, why don't you have a sketchbook here? I would totally subscribe)

Wolfentir I usually really really like your work but this time you strayed from your normal way of working. You had fewer simple shapes or something. The simplicity of some of your other pieces is their strengths, in my opinion anywho.

As a HUGE Star Wars fan I gotta say, there were some good entries here. Lot of folks when creating custom SW characters never capture the simple-but-mystical look of the original experience... I think a few definitely managed to keep that here. Too outlandish/ornate tends to be distracting from the unique feeling of the Star Wars universe. :D

burmak - Awesomely done piece, I literally lol'd when I saw it, the pilot's face is priceless and R2 is just sitting there like "what the fuck can i do". You can easily tell this is a female sith because she looks fucking evil and it easily reads as fitting in the Star Wars universe.

grey - I love your idea of having a sith that was raised by Tusken Raiders, in fact for some reason I didn't even get that at first, then i saw the goggles and the little spikes coming out of the head wraps and then the gun and it all clicked, great pose, really awesome pose.

xaya - She really does look like someone you dont wanna fuck with. Reads easily as Sith and the composition is great, it leads us right to her face. Great piece.

vorace - You seemed to have gotten a lot of fanboys for your piece but with good cause, she will fuck you up and not care. Her pose conveys a great sense of power and strength and the composition helps with that as well, awesome.

clochette - How could I not vote for this, your stuff is amazing and this piece is absolutely no different. Totally Sith, totally Star Wars, totally evil in the sense that she looks like she likes to play with her prey before she kills it. Awesome colors and textures.

evildisco - Right when I saw your initial sketch, I was hooked. Your style is really unique and interesting and the concept for the character is both as well. I thought that you might lose some of the feel of the sketch when you started adding color and such, but you didn't at all, awesome piece.

@NateShaw thanks for the comments, I was trying to paint in a more realistic style, I plan to do some more fairy tale style things when I feel I can do it better and do it justice, and I'll try to keep the simplicity in mind for future works

(I apologize if I got anyone's handle wrong; my monitor isn't the best. And neither are my eyes. Excuses, excuses...)

Your eyes can really start to hurt, if the screen isn't set right. Even on old monitors, you can make things better by setting the monitor to "75 Hertz" or above. That makes the "screen/monitor blinking" so fast, that it doesn't hurt your eyes so much. Try right clicking on the empty desktop to find the screen/monitor stuff. Tired eyes can also get really blurred, esp if you've eaten too much sugar.

I apologize for this off topic comment.

I will crit and vote in a minute, to make up for this post. :)

Crits:

Adam Schumpert - Darth Emily: Love the idea of the wisest of them all (Yoda) having a counter part in the most evil of them all. The hair or fur like things on her head, makes her more feminine. Her ears down, like an angry or anxiously waiting dog or cat, is also a good effect. I like the red, that dominates, and especially the face and her stance.

Burmax - Strangely, the first thing I noticed, were the colors. I really like the way you used the greens. It also works really well with the composition. A woman AND a "plane". The dynamics of the slanted plane, the forward bending Sith. I also like the whole idea behind the scene, where she clearly does a "Darth Vader" kill, by using the force to kill the pilot. The angry eyes of the C3PO in the back.

Grey - Really enjoyed the first sketch you posted and the guts in choosing a pose like that. Difficult to pull off. The original sketch really showed how good you are with a pen. The finished image is kept very simple, but elegant. I like your choice of browns and reds as the dominating colors. She does look a little extra red in skin tone on my monitor. Her lower arm on the ground also ended up a little long-ish, I think. Her outfit is very Star Wars and that gets points for sheer recognition : She belongs in that universe.

Lord M - The figure has a great flow. From movement to the fabric flowing around her. With such a strange body, it must have been hard to find that balance. She twists a great deal, from upper torso to lower with the leg going in a totally different direction than the shoulders. And yet it works. First thing I noticed, were your bold stomach choice of elongated stomach muscles. I like your colors in this and the shadows on the dress.

Maxpaint - She is very gothic queen of the dead meets vampires on TV and S/M punisher. It works beautifully as a dark angel of death. The rays coming out of the black wings, which btw are really good in that creative shape. Not sure about the round fog as a platform on the bottom or her knees and lower leg area. The idea of the ties and chains on her thighs is really the eye grabber for me. Not sure if this says "Sith" so much for me. Very cool drawing, though.

Vargo - Different technique than most, with different effect. I like the colors and the coloring. For some reason, it reminds me a little of Harry Potter, and I can just imagine her, in that universe. Back to Sith, though. I like her red hair an dher mischievous facial expression. You really got away with a difficult pose for the arms and her stance with head forward, twisted upper torso etc. The outfit with a kind of half way dress cloak and skimpy undies - or lack there of, looks great but doesn't make a lot of sense.

WMB Hand - She is definately coming to get you. The walk of an angry teacher or witch about to beat up a child or pull their ear almost off. Who ever she is coming at, is short. That's probably why. I do like her. It has humor. Bold, brash attitude. Good distortion with the back leg. The twist of the abdomen. Her focus. The coloring is a bit too blue for me. The background with a hint of a space thing in (my) left corner, works to enhance her movement.

Xaya - Elegant, pale, sensual, with a big pantie pouch for chastity for some reason. Really sexy stockings, and a goth Johnny Depp character like jacket with a really good draping on it. I like that. I also think the pointed horn like shoulders are a good idea for a villain. The greys, blacks and red shine on the stockings is just very effective and a great ook.

Zilrion - The way the rancor looks at the Sith woman, with a sad eye, crinkled up forehead and open mouth forming a sad sound... it looks like the big rancor has a crush on "Liphi". The agony in the face. This adds another dimension to the character and the whole drama, that surrounds her. You focused on the texture above the rancors eye and it's mouth. Very effective. She doesn't look very pleasant or comforting. You really captured a type, that would make an excellent Sith. Not sure why you put fabric draping around her legs. I do really like the white scar like tattoo's on her arm and the colors, and the rain, and the shadow of the rancor's arm in the background. As well as the detailing of the swamp water.

Areve - Sexy walk in very high heels. Sexy hair and great idea with the skirt moving in paralell and creating a shape on it's own. Also like the buckles sticking out on her boots. Nice, simple tattoo's. Not sure if the suggestive mounds and shapes aren't supposed to say something to me. lol. She does have a strong character. Confident. The kind that would watch Sex in the City. She does have a strong "type" and it's not easy capturing that. I like the reds, and the shine on the skirt. A little too much grey and too sketchy for me. Also not sure about the hip area. With more time, I am sure you'd have given it more of a finish, so I will leave that to the imagination. Cool character.

Baxter - One of the first things that I notice, is the big lollipop staff with the red eye. Even though, it's different, I rather like it. Her face with the hair sticking out like that, does remind me of Leia. Also the rope like thing around her waist, and the border edges on her skirt and top, are very Leia costume. Her face tatto's are also very Sith to me. I like all of that. The simple background and her stance, as she blocks our way, does tell a story. I like that. Her belly that twists and seems stuck under the rope, is the one thing, that isn't perfect to me, but it's a minor thing.

Dan! - A very golden, red, beige image. Almost too much, and a border or something of a diff color might have balanced it out. Really cool, though. Well executed. Love the shine in the boots and over all shine on body. The shades. Really enjoy the luminescent feel of it, with the white light sabers almost like those long light bulb things, that create luminescent light. (Bad English, sorry.) Her body is really good. Her metal like abdomen is interesting and effective. Her boobs are a little man boobs to me. Very sexy overall, though. (No, I'm not into women, but I can still envy those who look good, lol.) One thing that I noticed, though. I found it odd, that her scarf is so huge.

Okay will post this and cont. in a bit... There are more than I remembered.

Ferrous Jack - She's an amazing cat woman robot, that gives the impression of a broken soul, broken heart, intent to kill. The spirals on her legs remind me of childrens books, cat in the hat type thing. The robot stuff reminds me of manga and feels Japanese. Both together here, works well. I have to say, that the fish-worm one eyed thing by her mouth.... um... throws me a bit. The laser weapon is a new design, and I like it. Also enjoy the dynamic stance - caught in the middle of a fight. Upper torso twisted to the extreme, but with such a heavy weapon, it makes sense. Adds credibility.

Agenda B - When I saw the first sketches, I thought they looked a little too thin. As it progressed, it looked better and better. The dynamics is awesome. A flying green fighter, a little like a female Peter Pan, against the very agile and limber blue Sith. Her cloak reminds me of Red Riding Hood. I really like the whole thing. The use of dark in the cieling and light on our blue Sith, gives a good effect. I also like the detail of the Star Wars window with explosions outside. The more sketchy green girl versus the much more detailed Sith, is also really well done. Not sure why her suit and boots look transparent, but that's a fun idea.

Vorace - You know people love yours. lol. Me too. She's blue. Not red. It's so easy to go for red, when the Sith like Darth Maul is black and red. Yours is darth vader meets a kind of zombie version of the dead Obi Wan Kenobi. If they had a daughter, she would be it. She's not young, either. That adds to her ferocity. Her grip on the lightsabers is hard, like she is about to kill. The angry face. The needles in her skin. The epic and simple background. One thing, that I did notice, is her belly. She looks a little pregnant. You've cloaked most of her abdomen in the dark, but it's not quite right, to me. Love the layer on layer glass floor, with reflective stars and robes. And the moon light blue light on her. (The first WIP has a better belly - I get the idea better now.)

Soup and Butter - I think the Baba Yaga effect has lingered with this one. She is an unusual Sith, but she is a very mean one. She doesn't stop at killing people with her mind, like Darth Vader, she fries the man's brain. The viciousness is very "Dark Side". Amazingly, she really does hold her balance on his back. You pulled that off, which must have been difficult. His stance, the movement of the whole piece, works. His back is a bit too rounded, I think. Def points for the cruelty in this one.

Sorkness - I really liked the grey sketch of this. The fabric stands out, her face and personality was so human and stood out. It has depth. The coloring was rushed, as I remember, and it does look like it could do with a little extra doodling. I still like it, and how she looks angry, but vulnerable and rather tiny at the same time. Her crown and cloak gives her a regal look, or at least a position of power. Her arm with the armor looks a little compact and that makes it look a little shorter than it is, I think. Both underarms look a little short. The hip circle thing going on puts focus on her hips and I think it would have looked better without it. Really nice, though.

Rob!T - Death and mayhem walks solemnly through a wall of enemy soldiers. Just kicks their butt with the force, like they were tiresome ants. Way cool idea, and it does work. A little chaotic with all those people, but I don't know how to pull that off and not have a lot going on. Her boots remind me of Napoleons tall riding boots kind of thing, and the long coat is very modern vampire TV kind of thing to me. Kept in dark night blues and blacks. Her expression is menacing but fun and she looks a little like she just took off her dark shades. Nice rack. Interesting belt and skirt thing, that I can't quite figure out. Doing a really black background might have brought better focus on her. Good idea and really nice angle on the whole thing.

Sentinel - You fixed her boobs. They look right now. That must have been a terrible chore to slave over. Not sure if you're into boobs but you made it work. She is a really interesting character. Her face reminds me of a Madonna figure from the old paintings. Her hair has a bit of a fantasy LOTR type thing, and the dress is a bit goth meets alternative fashion to me. The dramatic clouds in the back, add to the feel of "painting by old masters". They loved the lightning and dark sky thing. Really good light on her. You worked more on the top than the bottom, so you got away with that a bit easy. Really like the boldness of the red and how the green is also used in the clouds.

Clochette - You have a really appealing European comics / French comics style. The line work is really good. Her pose looks just right. It looks like a water color effect to me. The use of the "rain" like brush was a little too much. It adds depth, but it also "washes it out" a bit. I like her, and there's no doubt, that she's got personality. I do miss a bit more depth to her. It's an interesting idea for her to have white arms and chest, and red face and hands with black tatto's. It gives the impression of a tigress with a human heart. The bottom half lines of the draping of the dress give her a bit of a square-ish form.

Decaying Lolita - I know you said, you don't really like it yourself. Well, it's still a good job. Very samurai warrior. Both the layers, the stance, the floating scarf, that alights with the sword at the back. The black - white - red colors. Her hair - long and whispy. Her foot and leg too. The samurai Sith. Her balance is okay, but the invisble leg pushed behind her, kind of leaves it up to the imagination, what she is balancing on. Also the scarf around the waist is perhaps a bit too straight down, instead of resting on rounded hips and armor. It is a woman in battle and I still think it's good work. Distinct with personality. The WIP with the face close up, is really nice. A good portrait.

Wolfentir - A female Darth Vader walking through the woods. Like your ID, there is an element of wolf, in the woods. Stealth, quiet, solemn, bad ass. I like that you used the Darth Vader design and made it female for the top armor. Interesting use of brushes for the cloak. I think it works well in the red, but not so much in the top and bottom grey. It's too intense, perhaps. Her legs are also looking a little odd to me. The reflection in the armor, the arms and skirt look good. Overall a strong presence conveyed.

Hideyoshi - There's an element of raging Japanese evil spirit, coming to attack. The helmet reminds me of the samurai. The hair (?) is kind of like crabbe legs and adds to the supernatural feel. Really enjoy the dynamic, the intense emotion, the way she just cut off a head, and it's still flying in the air. Not sure about her lower body, and especially her foot and leg. A little too extreme in the perspective, I think. The light from behind really helps to show the severed head and adds dynamic. I like that. Also the muted reds and a cold, ominous yellow/green.

(I bit off more than I can chew here, but I'll finish the crits in a bit.)

so disappointed I didn't make it to the poll.
when was this new attachment rule set?

never saw it. I am not even very sure to know how to do it :D

Me too! Totally bummed that I never got in for the same reason. Did everything the same as I usually do on chow so was very surprised.:(

Cmalidore - She seems "punk" in some way. Maybe it's her hair, the look on her face, the girl in the ghetto feel. She does give off a very young and dark "given up on the world" feel. I would almost expect her to have piercings, to go with the metal in her hair. Her personality fits well, with the "fractured" background. A really interesting idea with the bundled up gun belt thing. Good detail with the pinkie finger and tight grip on the saber. The shredded top corsage seems a little more turned to the side, than the bottom half with the wrap around skirt. An expressive piece and in a good way.

Angel in the UK - Focus on the force and the ways of both Jedi and Sith. The power of the mind. A good choice. It's not all about battle. Her alien nature, intense eyes says Sci Fi. The tight braids in a very tight and ordered design, says a lot about how her mind works. Adds to the impression of a focused, disciplined person. I'm not so happy about the colors. Her lower legs and feet are also a bit too sketchy, I think. I really like the idea of it, and the strength she radiates.

Ghostbrush - A gutsy piece of art. The torn, shredded cloak, the strange pants with the clit sticking out in the middle, the horns on the head, and the hood with the downward pointing "ears", that gives the impression of anger. Especially combined with those angry eyes and mouth. I like that you really dared play with her outfit like that. Didn't play it safe. Good dramatic cloud background, that sets her off, really well. Blue pubic area and red armor for the boobs is almost like you decorated her with color. Made her pretty. It makes her a little less human, though. More about color, than about flesh. I like that you angled the image and made her step over something. Maybe it's me, but I'm reminded of Gigers work a bit w her legs.

Nerahla - She is unusual. Very much a type. Not athletic, not skinny, not active. Relaxed, earthy, calm, hair of Snow White, with curvy, celtic like tattoo's. The brown, soft dress adds to her earthiness. Her red eyes, the red saber and the blue white energy is very sith, but the dress is so tight - with leather straps and all, that she can't be a physical fighter. The dark green and the dark bordeaux browns go well together. They give a good contrast to the skin. She doesn't really say "Sith Fighter" to me, though.

Masque - What you did with the grey shades and the drapings is amazing. Impressive piece. I have to say, though... she looks masculine and a bit of a boy toy. It's so strong in this picture. Both the choice of blue red bathing suit, the muscles and especially the face, but also the whole attitude. As it is, it's still a darn good job, artistically. The work you did, the sketches, are awesome. The background that you added, looks really good, and the window/glass effect that is aided by the gold decoration, dots the i. The pet has a classic beast look, that I like.

Dwinbotp - Fireman meets S/M punisher with a heroic cape, that belongs on a general. The leather and armor look is really good. Her attitude is so girlie magazine. lol. Really nice work. Fun sci fi belt and accessoirs. The soldier bits feel like a throwback to the 90's for me. That's kinky. Not sure why, but it is. A very kinky image on so many levels. The army pants remind me of the dictators of World War II. Especially with the glove thing going on. Enjoy the colors, focus/fade... Lots of stuff. Also the slightly arcana tarot card type thing with one sword down and one up.

Inkfish - Her face is still really good. I do like her whole face/hair/tattoo design. You gave her a more round feel around the mid section, that I missed in the earlier wips. The skin with veins and various tones works really well. Looks to me like you toned down her gold jewelry. Made th focus on the face and upper torso. I like that. Brings her more to life. Less bling, more persona. Same w the metal on the lower leg. You made it less dominant. Despite being alien, she does look like an ass kicker. Enjoy the reflections that you added on the top. Foot is not great, but all right. But I figure you know that. Still enjoy the feel of the fabric on the skirt (and top) that you created.

Okay, guys. Getting brain freeze now. This round really is huge.

Dau Dau: Thank you very much for that critique, really nice to hear something like that, has got me pumped to keep learning and improving.
Really really appreciate that.

So so many entries, I am gobsmacked at the quality too, so many talented people here.
The variation in interpretation is also great, No 2 seem to be very similar and everyone has really gone for it!

Especially fond of Evildisco's piece, just has so much attitude and the rendering just looks superb! well done! got my vote!

Rusty: Her face is creepy as hell!!!!! love the four arms, makes it so engaging to look at, and your hands are so convincing, awesome job on the lighting too, got my vote.

Dan!: took a long time staring at yours, and I must say I love the rendering, the light for the sabers on her legs is perfect for me! also her costume and face are excellent, really cool shizz man! got my vote.

Awesome work from everyone! after work I will try comment on everyones as I feel they all deserve a mention!

DauDau: Yeah, I didn't have time to colour it properly, I slapped it on right before the deadline, and there was still so much left to do. I'm kinda surprised it went to poll, and looking at it now, I'm thinking I should've put the greyscale in as the entry instead of the coloured one, it kinda lost something as well as being sloppy and unfinished in this version....

I voted for Adam Schumpert, Rusty, Venger, Vorace, Soapandbutter and Sentinel.

Awsome round, lots of good entries :)

DauDau: Thanks very much for taking the time to comment - I did rush the legs to get it in for the deadline, still not happy with them either... will try and make sure I have stronger anatomy reference next time (was a small jpg). And I don't usually do colour experiments but now you've said that I will do in the future ;) good experience and was pleased with the results..so far!

Votes went to:
Vorace definitely wiped the floor with this one...brilliantly moody, dark and dangerous
rusty wow!! I would like to see her in a new star wars sith film! love the rendering on her upper body.
Maxpaint Lovely feel about this one, her costume is luscious...did remind me slightly of storm from x-men ;)
Evil Disco Love the colour scheme and her costume..the whole style of it really, reminds me of Aeon Flux (the animated one..naturally)
Decaying Lolita Lovely costume ideas and movement..nice
Xaya lovely costume and her face is beautiful but still disillusioned and hard looking
Ghost Brush Liked this one a lot from the start - interesting colours, perspective and character design

my all time fav just for sheer entertainment value has to be Adam Schumpert especially the strip..lmao (really cheered me up at work :D)

Am I blind? Where is Rushwolfs an Trevors work?!? I think I read Rushwolf say he didn't want to go to poll, but Trevor seemed to be pretty much finished.... Ah well...

Voted for a whole bunch of people again, but I thinks it's pretty clear that Vorace is going to win this. His Sith is just too star wars...
I also really like Adam Schumperts little comic strip and everything.

Great work as usual, guys!!! Stopping by every week is so much fun!

Guys, the attachment rule has always been in place, I just never enforced it.

Because of the number of images that I have lost in the finals thread, it was necessary to start enforcing it, and I have been doing so for about the last month in the finals thread, as well as making several posts about main thread every week.

If you don't know how to use the attachment editor, please pm me and I'll walk you through it.

I'm going to re-write the guidelines this week so there is absolutely no confusion anymore.

Great work everyone! Some comments on my favorite designs:

evildisco: I love the character design; it is very unique, but does feel as though it would fit in well with the Star Wars universe. Great use of shapes and weight (I love the big, heavy hooded garment coupled with skinny legs).

masque: Great character, and a truly impressive painting for only one week. Great use of shapes in your background design.

Hideyoshi: I like your design, and think you captured her evilness well. Great sketches.

Ghostbrush: I like the almost organic armor design. Your painting stands out well, and you captured her regal, yet dark persona perfectly.

Clochette: Beautiful drawing and painting technique. Your design is more subtle than many of the others but I think it is stronger for it.

Burmak: Cool painting. I love the atmosphere and use of color. She indeed looks like she can kick some ass.

DecayingLolita: I believe you have created the scariest looking sith in this challenge. Her emotionless, dead looking face is as creepy as it is beautiful.

Vorace: Excellent work. I was blown away when I first saw this in the WIP thread. Great design, beautifully painted, and would absolutely fit in well with the Star Wars universe.

Rusty: Damn impressive! Nice silhouette, and I think the way you handled her pectoral muscles and breasts is genius, and looks functional (I probably would have just given her four boobs). Great sketches too.

Asahi-SD-, I'm very suprised to not see your piece make it to poll. I like your design of her
as if she's an evil Padma or something--looking really cute with a killer bite.

So am i , anyway i'm quite happy with this piece of work , she is maybe not Sith looking enough , next time i'll do a bad ass one ^^

Wow totally awesome round. I didn't expect to get in the poll with these hard rules, but thank you! :)

Och tack så mycket DauDau, jag verkligen uppskattar det du sa. :D

Oh where to start, so many awesome entries. I voted for Vorace, Hideyoshi and Masque - my 3 overall favos.

Vorace - Now THAT's a sith, great character design. You captured the feel of Star Wars damn good. I love the colours you used and that reflective floor added the little extra spice to the stew. ;)

Hideyoshi - Love her crazy appearence and crazy look on her face. That headslash looks very realistic.

Masque - As soon as you posted the first sketch I knew it would turn out great, but it turned out even greater when you posted the final. The cat was a nice touch, and I liked her biography as well.

Adam Schumpert - Loved your little story about Darth Emily, reminds me of my sister. :P The character was real cool aswell, Yoda's evil sister? I only think you maybe could have pushed the details a bit more. :)

Burmak - Awesome pose, standing on an X-wing and forcechoking the pilot flying it is totally awesome. Great colouring and flow.

Grey - The Tusken-raider outfit fits her perfectly, great concept! Love her helmet and the rifle.

Maxpaint - She looks pretty evil, awesome wings on her back. Good job!

VARGO - Cool outfit, I really liked the lightsaber you did as well I must say.

William B Hand - She looks more like some kind of commander then a sith, I blame her hat. But it's a nice piece. :)

Xaya - Totally evil and cold look on her. Love her outfit.

Zilrion - I really like the environment you put her in and the Rancor in the background. Her and her outfit seems very well adapted to the climat on that planet. On of my favos.

areve - Loving the clothes, your character would fit perfectly in some Star Wars game I must say.

Baxter - Pretty different approach of lightsabre-like weapon. Really like the face you gave her.

Dan - Spot on! That's a sith, atleast how I see them. Great mood in it, that cloak thingy that goes over her nose reminds me a bit of the thing Starkiller wore in Force Unleashed - really cool!

Rusty - Great to see that someone did the fourarmed people, and did it good. The lightning and shadow play is superb.

Venger - Loving the armour, but it's in my honest opinion a bit more Warhammer 40k looking then Star Wars looking - but that's just me. I liked the weapon you gave her, lightspear! :D

Ferrousjack - If one were allowed to vote more then 3 times I would have included you. Your character is awesome and so is your art. I liked her biography as well. :)

Flipnastywebby - Great character, a little bit off on the anatomy, her arms are a bit too long though I must say. I really liked the idea where the rain evaporates on her lightsaber.

I'll continue commenting on the rest, gotta do some stuff now.

Ferrousjack - If one were allowed to vote more then 3 times I would have included you.

You are allowed to vote more than 3. You can vote for as many as you see fit.

Why is this so hard for people to understand? heh.

Anyway - being that I know that you can vote for as many as you like.....

My votes went for:

Adam Schumpert: Simply wonderful, in fact, my absolute favorite. Your WIP comic book showed the most creativity of anyone's and how you brought it all together with the final image was really very good. Anyone who doesn't think there is humor in Star Wars never saw the movies. ;)

Xaya: I wish you had refined this more, because I like it so much, but you did very little and it ended up alright, the shrinkage for the poll erased all the looseness ;) I think you should go back and tighten it up, because everything else about it is extremely good. Good comp, good values, great costume/outfit and wonderful colors. An excellent example of someone who knows what they're doing.

Hideyoshi: Love the movement and action here, love her face. Love the lightsabers and the lighting of the piece in general.

Vorace: Captures SW very well with that dramatic background/floor.

Masque: Wonderful drawing. Wonderful concept. Amazing cloth folds!!!! My only crit would be about the colors - it looks overlayed instead of really painted.

Sentinel: Gorgeous image, wonderful use of colors and I love the backlighting!!

RobT: You did a TON of work for this one, all those stormtroopers and rebels, holy cow -- but you never forget who the center of attention is at all -- it's the best "scene" presented here while still managing to handle the brief. Well done!

I'm just glad I made the poll in this amazing group of artists!!

I knew I could vote multiple times when I finally got around to it. I thought about the notion of multiple votes and what that really meant, and realized -- "oh, each split of your vote just thins out its impact... and if you vote for everyone, then you effectively have no vote at all".

In the end I decided to vote for only one, even though I love several here. It was because I didn't want any ambiguity in how much I love Vorace's pic. That thing has the pull of a black hole. The little bg story enhances it even more. Spot on job, Vorace.

However...

Now that I see how soundly that one is trouncing the rest, I feel a tinge of regret that I didn't simply vote for everyone's. Everyone here deserves some love, including some people that didn't make it into the finals for (painful, but understandable) technical - or other - reasons.

So... Great friggin' job to EVERBODY -- is my MEGA-VOTE! [*GROUP HUG*]

It was a pleasure just to run in this race. My art muscles are sore because I used ones that I simply haven't before, and the excitement that I now feel for attacking figure-drawing and character design is just astonishing to me (as I have always shied away from them). I still don't know why this topic grabbed me, as my interest in the Star Wars Universe is mostly nostalgic now.

Thank you daestwan for messin about with all of this and answering everyone's queries so promptly. I have some idea how much energy running these things can take, and it is - deceptively - a lot.

Thank you Poshspice for coming up with this topic (and for any other part you may have played), which somehow had a magic in it.

Great Job!

Some rambling crits for the cuttees!

Flameraven – I think this has loads of potential. At the moment the anatomy is a bit squiffy. Think about which leg has the most weight on it. Right now it looks as though you’re not sure which one to emphasise. Compositionally it works quite well, against the window although the light on the floor bears no relationship to the pattern that would be cast by the window frame. And in the words of Noel Gallagher, she casts no shadow! I like the fact you’ve given her personality through the expression, but it needs work structurally on the face to be convincing. Her head is almost as broad as it is wide.

Acidsev – Right now there is no co-ordination in her costume design. Rather than arbitrarily placing bits of outfit on her, try to see costume as a whole. Why are there straps on her leg? What attaches the armour to her thigh and shoulder? As I’ve not got your WIP shots, I’m not sure of your procedure, but concentrate on pose and anatomy before draping her in costume. Think about how her character is reflected in the way she might stand and look at reference for posing. There is no crime in referencing photos for positions you find awkward. The best artists in the world use more reference than you can imagine!

Eth777 – You’ve taken on a whole heap of trouble in the foreshortening in this, so credit for doing that. It works too... at times. The arm on the right lets it down. It looks awkward and probably would benefit from bringing the elbow up. The hand on the left could do with some better reference really, to avoid the blockyness. Lots of fun in her expression. She looks genuinely evil, with those ‘Jokery’ lips! Background a bit of an after thought I feel. Is that the smudge tool at work! :)

Elder of the Earth – I love the design of this character. The face and headpiece is very Sith. Don’t rely too much on the airbrush. It can make fleshtones look rushed and muddy, and your image is crying out for some hard edges, mainly on the metal parts. Pity you had no WIPs because this could have gone through. I do this alot too; try to avoid cutting a character off at the ankles. It’s like you get so far and then can’t be bothered.

Skektek – I love what you’re doing with the mixture of elements and the detailing. Some of them need to integrate more with the character though. They stand out somewhat. Great expression, and head. Big hands, but maybe you wanted them like that. I often think with character studies like this, it’s better to avoid those airbrushy backgrounds. It might have been better to put her against a monotone or even a white BG. You could bring some element ‘up’ a bit more. The eyes for example. They’re a bit lost in the face. :)

Lake7less – Interesting pose, but it’s a bit lost in the heavy shadow. Love the lightsabre! I think with a charcter like this, who is fundamentally all dark colours, a more vertical pose would have worked better. Hunching her down she loses a lot of her power and imposing quality. In this sort of position maybe having her look at the viewer would have helped. Drawn us in from behind the mask. I think the glimpse of thigh works really well, and has shape despite being simple. The arm holding the lightsabre has a quirkyness in its bend which is lost on the other. One looks interpreted, the other clumsy. I’m not sure about the motif in the upper corner either.

Zimfin – I think you deserve real credit for producing a fully fledged illustration with some humour! I love the way she is casually pushing the enemy to his doom! Proportionally I think your character needs work, mainly round the torso. There is little in the way of form and seems quite flat, however your face is great, and has character in the expression. Not so keen on the blurry background and the hard edge of the platform against it, and your light sources are a bit over the place. :)

Piemonster – Great face, and some really subtle lighting on the horns. The foreshortened arm needs a bit of work to avoid it looking stubby. Some of your brushmarks in this are great, particularly on the torso. There needs to be either less or more definition in the background, but there is a sense of depth which is good considering the lack of colour differentiation between fore and back ground.

More to follow...

Wow I'm happy so many people appreciate my sith lord :) thanks for the comments everyone!!
My first sketch had less clothes and wasnt really in the SW mood, so I looked again to every reference I could get on the Sith designs. What really caught my eye was the really simple tunic of the Emperor and Darth Maul's hooded cloak (see image attached). Tryied to capture the same feeling :)
As William said, everyone deserve a vote, seriously, a LOT of super great entries.
I restricted myself to 3 votes :

Venger : I liked a lot the mix between the armor and the clothes. The little droid is a nice touch, and the overall design would fit in the SW universe (maybe more the episode 1-2-3 era)

Clochette : The design is simple but efficient, would totally fit in any of the movies. The tattoos are subtiles but help to get the evil nature of the character.

Evildisco : WOW ! This sith is killer. looove the design, the gigantic hood and the powerfull robotic arms. Really stylish!

OMG :wtf: OMG :wtf: ... I can't believe my eyes ... What an AWESOME round, nearly every entry rocks and those which aren't that well rendered at least do have their own unique design which (as I would say) rocks again ... :jawdrop:
I could have voted for so many that I finally decided to vote for just one which actually stood out for me, but not because of the rendering (which can't be a criterion considering the very high average renderlevel of the given pieces) but because of the compsition and design. A dwarfish granny(yoda)like sith sitting on the back of her victim boiling his brain ... How cool is that! So my Vote goes to Soupandbutter.

Awesome work @ all, truly epic round!

AdamSchumpert: female evil yoda, a cool concept which is brought into greatness by the accompanying comic strip. Very calvin and hobbes i thought, with skywalker instead of spaceman spiff :)

Rusty: Great pose, imposing figure, good lighting and in my opinion really good execution of the 4-arms concept.

Vorace: Man, I practically heard the Starwars theme playing in the background while looking at this one, very cool and spot on for the intended universe.

Venger: Love those legs.

Soupandbutter: Got the same vibe as from the emperor in the original trilogy, that almost vengeful use of the force, used not simply to defeat but to torture with glee. cool character, and very cool scene.

Clochette: I love your style. A more serene and less agressivelooking sith than a lot of the other entries, but definitely warriorlike.

Inkfish: great attitude, and nice to see an evil member of this species. I really like the way you paint this, albeit she looks a bit too shiny in places, almost translucent.

Masque: really good use of colour and i really like your work on the fabric brapped around her shoulders. To me she looks more at home in the farscape universe than starwars though, apart from the weapon of choice of course :)

probably voting for clochette and Vorace, great characters that ooze starwars to me.

Good Round everyone! Wish I had been able to spend a bit more time on mine, but no biggie :D

Votes go to:

Clochette: Very nice! Has a very old school Star Wars look to it.
Vorace: Screams Sith up and down. Nice job!
Grey: Nice theme. Definitely sticks out of the crowd.
Sentinel: A nice piece overall. The background definitely adds a lot.
evildisco: Great style! Guards in the back add a lot to the scene as well.

Voted for: burmak, grey, Dan!, masque, and agenda-b

I seem to have a preference for characters in the midst of action, rather than the more posed and portrait-like representations of a lot of this CHOW's entries.

I have a preference for strong design, whatever the pose is, so I voted Xaya, Vorace and Evildisco.
In my opinion there are reading Star wars even if i try to forget the laser saber. The design of the character is enough to make me instantly think to a dark evil sith. And as a bonus, really pro execution in different styles.

burmak, maxpaint, dan!, rusty, vorace, cmalidore, and fox ftw. for me, they had the best feel of "sith". expression was definitely a big part of it.

DAMN! It's always the little things that get ya! An attachment name or a exhaust port! It's a Rebel plot I tell ya! :[

My 3 votes are:

3rd Rusty - Great alternate anatomy. I'm guessing she's a hugger.
2nd Sentinel - Beautifully bitchy! Think what would have happened if she was in a BAD mood!
1st VORACE - I really can't add anything that hasn't been said so...I'll say it in smilies :xpld:  :hatsoff: :cheerleader: :D :wtf: :jawdrop:

Thanks posh! I'll definitely take your advice to heart. I really wanted to do a bg but time got the best of me. The hands are actually right for that species from what I've seen.

Had loads of fun here with all of you! See ya later!

Awesome round, everyone. Very nice work and a lot to choose from!

I restricted myself to 5 votes and a special wild card vote:)
It was hard to cut votes:)

Grey - Nice rendering, nice pose - very neat.
Hideyoshi - I really liked the face design and action.
Vorace - I'm not worthy:) Is the fat, or is it just her costume?
Masque - Amazing paint work and colours - she looks quite queen-like
Rob!T - nice story in the picture

Wildcard vote:
MJAlcazar - dude I have been watching you for a while and you have improved SO much, it's amazing - I think you deserve a mention for that. Good light coming off that saber

Really cool challenge!! I don't know much (and didn't look :bashful:) about Star Wars, so I just took a different stance on why I voted.

Man, I'm worn out lately but I'm glad I got to vote for this one!! So many great entries!! Here are my votes and why (I actually voted for less than 10 people this time! o_o):

Adam Schumpert: I just loved your style here. A very interesting looking queen--I love how small but menacing she appears!

Rusty: Your character just scared me with those reaching arms and the chest area looking...extended as it does! You've created her seamless look, but it's almost like any part of her could just up and attack somebody! O_O Love the expression on her face--now there's a lady lacking sympathy or mercy!!

Maxpaint: I love the look of her gown. It's got beauty, elegance and a commanding thickness to it! I also love her face, some of the most intriguing features, especially her lips!

Dan!: I think what caught my eye here were her creepy leering eyes, plus the "liquid" looking shine of her outfit! Very cool!

Vorace: I must say, your version captivated me such a greal deal!! The rather gloomy blue colour is also showing a power within to me. I especially love the drapery of her clothes and the structure of her face. :D

AUG: The thing that I liked about yours is the tiny detail in her texture. :) It kind of tricked my eyes in a cool way!

Evildisco: One of the most awesome looks I've seen!! Especially those crazy folds on her dress, that's just amazing! You gave her such personality with the lines and sharp shading! Oh, and the clothes totally show that she's in charge! :D

Clochette: Basically everything I see in red in your piece, I like! XD I love her face (I am in love with so many faces in this challenge!), how it appears she wants to do a little bad and have some fun. She looks sneaky, too! ;)

DecayingLolita: I think the wildness of your lines here gave her such animation, and her face has a silent ferocity that makes me tingle. I feel slow compared to her! XD Lovely combination of colours!

I totally wanted to echo this - you are improving by leaps and bounds with every piece I see, MJAlcazar. Keep rockin it!

Thank you purb36! You have no idea how much you made my week :) I was kinda bummed that my piece seemed so forgettable, but it was a huuuuge honor just to make it to the poll this week.

My favorite was Sentinel. hands down. For some reason this piece really popped to me- it's gorgeous! Also voted for Decaying Lolita and cmalidore.
