I'm in Ann Arbor, too. I'm always on the lookout for a place to do figure drawing that isn't the Ann Arbor Art Center at noon on Sunday.

I tried to start up a sketch group last year but nothing ever came of it. I think CCS and DIA (both in Detroit's cultural center) have open figure drawing during the summer. When I get a chance i'll look into it and post some info.

that sounds awesome! does anyone ride as well? i work at the bike shop on 14 and Haggerty in Walled Lake/Novi and some of us are going to do detroit nite rides this summer.. we could all do a ride/draw/bar crawl??

I might not be in good enough shape for the ride part of that, but the bar crawl sound good...

Like a lot of people from the region, I work in the auto industry and right now I'm kind of swamped with work (when so many people get laid off it leaves a lot more for the rest of us to take care of). That coupled with school means I won't be able to get involved until summer, but I'm still interested.

There might be few other people interested as well, I forget their usernames but when I get some time I'll see if I can contact them.

Okay it looks like I misspoke, but there are open figure drawing session for like $7 at the scarab club (that weird red building right next to the DIA). I've never been inside but i might check it out when I have some freetime.

Well I've never had a chance to go inside the club itself, but I'm in that area nearly every single day. From my experience, during the summer there is abundent parking all over Wayne State's campus and by the DIA. If you are willing to part with a few dollars (maybe tree fidy) it won't be hard to find, but you might have to walk a ways. You could probably also park over behind CSS, I don't know if there are meters over there but as far as I can tell you wouldn't have to worry about your car getting broken into or anything like that.

Sucks for you dude. But they do have sessions on Saturdays from like 10am-1pm, maybe that helps.
