Oh hello! I am alive and well. Been hell at school lately. Symbiotic creature sounds nice. Agree with your sizes.
Sooooo what to fight about. How about the battle of robotbuildings. Huge megamalls fighting about customers bla bla bla.

Would like to do an aquatic battle. Any ideas?

The feel could be the lurking sense of imminent combat/death, like a a heartbeat before two opponents leap upon each other

or

A mighty humongous clash where both agressors feel that this is IT. In their frenetic fight for survival you see the intense fear both have of the other...

How about:

Spooky squid underwater just about to attack an evillooking attackvessel of unknown alien origin, searching the seabottom for something...

Or

A big cruel futuristic whalekillerboat-robot attacking a giant piece of mutated seacreature, maybe carnivore whale. (Im norwegian. I like the whole idea of killing whales, alas not exterminating them. That delicious meat must survive! I would have eaten that killerwhale Willy if killerwhales didnt taste like shit.)

Or

Is seals trying to save a soon-to-be-eaten family member from a big squid/crab/seaplant allowed?

lol i saw some whales this last sunday! Id love to a squid or squid like critter..
something (large) comming out of the deep..

and a hunter figure stalking from the surfce.. be that a ship/ whale or something inbetween

Yes. I want to do that one. Creature sneaking up on big carnivore searching for food just below surface sounds very sneakylurking... So we have gotten the size 10 x 8", 2D Digital medium, hell, anything 2D.

Anything else to consider before we battle it out?

so are we BOTH drawing (1)deep and (1)surface creatures
or chosing to do just one each ?

Lets say we draw 1 creature each, but we have the other ones creature in the background of the drawing. They will both give that lurking feel, but in somewhat different ways. This of course means we will have to finish the basic shape of the creature before the final touches. dunno if this constrains it too much for you.

I think that would limit us a little bit.
maybe we should wait for some proccess drawings first..
so we dont get cramped into a odd framing.

that way we can ruff in each others concept with out having to stay in the same drawing...
like two percpectives in a story board sequence..

Ive made a few sketches of creatures. No time to scan them, as school finished, and they all lie there.

So have you drawn any yet? Any ideas as to a different theme, or are we going aquatic?

I have made a few layouts myself but there on napkins and office notes and such..

Im gonna be busy for the remainder of the week. during this weekenc i should have some things to present..


I have a 1 week vacation comming up with no plans so ill pump out some stuff then:)

I have 2 weeks vacation coming, so ill see what i can manage to put out. Allthough I will not have the ability to scan in anything, I will try to take a few digital pictures of the drawings.

And, oh. The critter ive done is the lower. So to lessen our workload with preparing two different characters, tell me which one you would want to do. I really am in a chiristmas-mood, you see. Actually, im more in the viking celebration mood.

(Norwegians strangely enough celebrate christmas on the 24th, because the pagan tradition Jule was copied over by the church, which put the birth of Jesus on the same day, just to steal the entire celebration. The pagan celebration was like christmas, with gifts and food, but with considerably larger amounts of alcohol. I think the 25th was a day of worship to a quite popular God of orgies. Soooo this year...

lol I live in Hawaii.. its the middle of winter here, though were in the tropics so its about 75 degrees (f) which is about 24 (c) i think.. no snow.... ever..at least on my island

I cannot tell you how annoyed I am with snow. Next year I`ll build a flamethrower to torch my way through snow. i want to go to Hawaii. Go figure.

PS: Keiko the annoying killerwhale is dead. Keiko is finally free. They gave him a grave on land. Once again Keiko makes people like you happy: Fishers all over rejoice over the new great place to dig for worms...

I use Norton "ghost" and save a base image of my files and back up my data frequently .

lol! 15 ! That would be a lovely temperature here. Today, a waterpipeline froze shut, and they had to dig it up and freeze traffic outside my apartment. I have a somewhat ridiculous suspicion that the cold in my apartment (having the same temperature as outside when I got back from Xmas.) made my smallest harddrive commit suicide at startup. (I should in retrospect have preheated the room.) I use another 160 Gb hard-drive, so in the future ill run RAID or Norton Ghost. Thanks for the tip.
