Currently looking for:
-Environmental Concept Artist
-Character Artist

My name is Mike Wild and I am one of three other programmers over at the indie development team Blitzwerks (http://www.blitzwerks.co.uk). We are currently developing an open-ended hybrid FPS which combines several genres to create an immersive and entertaining world in which to play in.

Fallen itself is set in the near future in a world which is struggling through an energy crisis. Russia is in control of the last remaining oil supply, and every other country pours all of their money into harnessing nuclear fission. When a breakthrough from a Russian research laboratory is leaked to the United Coalition Forces (a newly formed unit consisting of several major world powers) their country is decimated by the ensuing nuclear war in a bid by the UCF to secure the research.
The main character Vladimir is a cold and war-hardened fighter who has watched many of his comrades die. When his outpost is attacked by a surprise skirmish he is forced to form his own group of freedom fighters and make his way across the wastelands of Russia to secure the research before the UCF.
It features an immense open-ended world which allows for total interaction with its inhabitants and the environment. An engaging non-linear plot means the player has to act carefully to navigate the hostile environment but also gives them the ability to choose how they do so.

We have a draft design document (22-pages so far) which contains in-depth information on the storyline, game mechanics and so on. It is initially planned as a CryEngine mod of the prelude chapter which we are able to test various gameplay mechanics and set a general visual style for the project.

The other reason for these initial concepts is to secure some funding. Being an indie team, money is very hard to come by and we are not lucky enough to have full-time backing behind us. So we have to rely on the generosity of willing individuals to donate work in the hope of having something good to put in their portfolio and also for experience. It is important to stress that there is no guarantee of payment, although once we get our current flagship product out to the public then we might be able to come to some sort of agreement.

If you think you have the creativity and initiative that is required to join our team then please email me at mikewild@gmx.com with some samples of your work. From there we will give you full access to our forums and send you a copy of the design document.

We look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Mike Wild

[Update]

We have decided to move to the CryEngine to build a prototype of the Prelude Chapter which will incorporate the custom media generated form these concepts. Before we are able to start however, we need some concepts drawn up. This artist would need to collaborate with myself and the rest of the team to produce some environmental sketches of the game world and various characters.
