I'm making an animated adaptation of the french novel "La Grand Beuverie" (also known as "A Night of Serious Drinking"), and I'm looking for an artist to draw early concept sketches for a very surreal, 1930's style bar. Because this is a non-profit open-source based project, I won't be able to pay anybody for their efforts, but if your sketches are used in the final production then you'll be included in the credits as one of the original concept artists and I'll send you a copy of the finished production on DVD.
Because this is a 'dream' scene, I'm looking for something with a very surreal, wispy, 'Tim Burton' type of feel to it (lots of curves, skewed proportions, exaggerations, general weirdness). I need two drawings in total, one facing the bar and another facing towards an elaborate fireplace, with tables in front of it. Also, the sketches are eventually going to be modeled in 3D, so although the proportions of objects can be strange or contorted, everything must feel real to the eye (no optical illusions) and look as if it could exist physically in real life.
So if this sounds like something you'd like to do, then pm me a link to your portfolio so I can see the kind of thing you normally do, and then we'll get started.
Thanks,
Richard Elliott
